    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

    “Uh…excuse me.  Of the three of us, I am not the motor mouth.  You need to check yourself SIL slash Baby Mama.”  For almost a year, Howie had referred to Alice as his sister-in-law, but called her SIL, pronouncing it like ‘window sill.’

    “No Baby Mama,” Dana scolded him as they reached the pathway leading up to Bette and Tina’s.  “No baby talk at all.”

    “Except if you’re talking to their kid, Angelica, then you can use ‘baby talk’ but don’t let Bette hear you because she hates it.”

    They walked up the steps and knocked.  The door opened and Bette was standing on the other side looking gorgeous in purple.  “Hey, you guys.  Come on in.”  She looked at Howie and cocked her head, “Hi, Howie, how’s it going?” and then looked at Dana.

    “Oh, is it okay if Howie joins us?  He had to come up to help us move a bookcase.”

    “Uh…”  Bette looked down at the three placecards in her hand.  She was having enough problems deciding where she wanted to place people. When Kit and Angus arrived without Mo, she learned that her half-brother would be late, but his girlfriend more than likely would not attend.  The unexpected inclusion of Howie Fairbanks screwed up her latest plan.  “Yeah, sure.”  She paused.  “Help you move a bookcase?”  She said not believing them.

    “Yeah, right.  A bookcase,” Alice confirmed.

    “Hey, Bette.”  Howie said as he walked in, followed by his sister and SIL.  “Nice place.”

    Dana and Alice looked like two cats who had just dined on a couple of plump canaries.  Bette closed the door behind them and eyed them suspiciously.

    Alice glanced in the living room and said, “Where’s Tee?”

    “She’s putting on Angelica’s second Thanksgiving outfit of the day.”  On cue, Tina walked down the hall holding Angelica’s hand.  Angelica wore a green and black plaid jumper with a big pumpkin at the bottom of the skirt.  Underneath she wore a long sleeved pumpkin-colored t-shirt and black tights.  Tina was much more sophisticated.  Dressed in a two-layered sheer chiffon black dress that draped around her form, the bottom half flowed down into a fluted hem at the knee.  She wore flat, black sandals that gave her swollen feet some breathing room.

My favourite couple have obviously been dana and alice, and you’ve written them and their story just perfectly, how it should have been, for me anyway. It has always amazed me how you wound the pieces of the series into this complete work. I love where you have taken all of them and how it was so true to the characters we have know.     6. Portia, thank you so much for this epic love story. I’m happy that all of the characters are happy and content. The loop holes that the show had created, you have thoroughly patched. That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
