– I was thinking red so you can wear that dress you like –Said Shane looking at Molly, which made Carmen feel more uncomfortable-

– Yes! I love it! I love you babe, you’d do anything for me!

– Yeah… -Said Shane avoiding Carmen look aswell as Molly’s. She and Molly had been dating for 6 months now but shane was never capable of telling Molly “I love you”. She would show it and somehow express it but telling, that was another different thing. Molly complained about it at te begininng but learned to accept it with time-

– What about you Carmen? Have you decided your color already?

– I haven’t decided if I’m going yet, so..

– Why not!? –Said Shane, snapping more than intended- I mean… it’s prom… Even I am going

– I don’t know, you know it’s not much of my thing

– You should at least go to see the prank we have planned. It’s gonna be sick, I wouldn’t miss it for any in the world.

– I don’t know

– You can come with us if you want to, right honey? –Said Molly out of the blue-

– Huh?

– Yeah the three of us can have fun together!

Fortunately Carmen interrupted before Shane could say anything

– I’m going with Papi if I go anyway. She asked me a few days ago.

Shane stiffened hearing that. Not for Carmen being with Papi, of course not.. but she knew Papi and she was just worried… or at least that was what she convinced herself to believe. And even though she tried to hide it, well, that didn’t work out pretty well.

– Papi? I’m sure you have other options –Said Shane not to glad-

– I don’t know, she seems fun. Besides we have a lot in common.

– I’m not so sure about that

– Come on Shane, we’re both latinas

– Yeah and that’s it! –The lanky girl blurted-

– Agh babe leave her alone, I’m sure she’ll have a blast with Papi. You should go with her –Said Molly winking an eye to the latin girl-

– Yeah, I’ll think about it.

– Anyway, we and the girls are having a BBQ tonight at Alice’s house. You should come over –Said Molly and Carmen instantanealy looked at Shane trying to see if she was okay with that-

– Yeah, you should come.

– I have work today so I don’t know, I’ll let you know if I can make it

– I can pick you up after you’re done with work –Shane blurted out of the blue surprising herself aswell as Carmen-

– Oh, perfect. So we see you tonight Carmen. I’ll tell Shane to call you in case she forgets. You know how she is… -And Carmen did her best to be kind-

– Yeah… okay I gotta go. Goodbye Molly. Bye Shane.

– Bye –Said Shane while looking at the ground-

– Bye!! See you tonight! …I like her, don’t you think she’s great? –Said Molly once Carmen was gone-

– Yeah sure…
