Last she’d heard, Tina was pregnant and she and Bette were still separated. Somehow, Alice and Dana had become a couple, Kit had purchased the Planet, and Lara Perkins was the chef there. There was a whirlwind of information to absorb when she was able to get it by sneaking into the computer rooms and sending quick emails to Bette. She had to scale the wall of her room, drop down to the next room under her, and get into the security room during the shift change. She wasn’t the most agile of women, but she’d been desperate for some sort of contact.
“You are free. You’re title is gone and I will run La Familia. It is what you wanted to begin with. You always were the problem child. They say the youngest is the one who is troublesome. They, whoever they are, have never met our family.” Her sister’s tongue curled around the words and Marina swallowed.
“Go legitimate,” Marina begged suddenly. “You can turn the businesses around; you don’t have to do this.”
Diana tossed her head back, a laugh escaping her throat. She shook her head walking to the French doors and pushing them open.
“And give this up? You were supposed to go to the America’s and set up a business to launder our money. OUR money Marina,” her sister said, her accent so much thicker and filled with French.
“Diana…” Marina said in a soft voice. “All I see is guards and security making sure that the current head of La Familia isn’t killed. All I see a prison where I see my sister as a prisoner.”
“From which you escaped and condemned me in your stead, remember that dear sister,” Diana said, smiling ruefully. “Once. Not again. Not until I am satisfied and the rest of La Familia is satisfied,” she said, her lips set in a scowl. She left the room by knocking twice and waiting for the guard to open the door. As she stepped through the door he resumed his sentry position, but not before closing the door with the tip of his gun. Marina sank down on the plush chair and wept.

So, not as romantic as you thunked huh? I’m sorry. I did warn you. I’m getting there, but there is sooo much good story to tell before then! I’m gonna log off now, cuz my mom’s are yelling in the other room about going to watch some old retro movie called Star Wars. GAWD they are so lesbian sometimes. There are like nine movies in this series, and they are making me watch it from the beginning, but it was shot out of order, who does this Lucas guy think he is?
So should I stick with it? Or should I trash this stuff and try being a grasshopper herder instead? How about a yak manure collector? How about a perfume maker? Tina’s yelling again something about a light saber? “I’m coming, MOM!”
At least it’s not some artsy fartsy thing by Leigh Orsten again….

I’m just thrilled to see this in print again. Angie is so cute. Plus Sam is in this one/ Plus the whole gang. I’m still waiting on a Novel so it can grace my coffee table under glass and dare anyone to touch it. Hopefully Peggy will take care of Helena, and the good Dr will help Bette away from Tinas Mother. Somethings never changes Tinas Mother is a Bi%%h in this one also. thanks for posting bvh
Seriously you hit al the emotions. I feel anger toward Helena…sympathy for Sabrina’s situation…sadness for Bette in having to bring AJ home without Tina…annoyance at Tina’s Mom showing up and taking over now…scared for Marina…and I am laughing my butt off at AJ’s commentary. FANTABULOUS chapter!
I’ve got to go back and read the other chapters. Really enjoyed this.
Keep writing, Ill be here too!
It is fantastic. Please continue.. I love Marina and her sister. Held prisoner by Diane. All your stories are really good. I am already enjoying this. Please continue..
Hello tJR, Oh I am all for the serious moments it just makes any tender and cute ones that much more powerful. I can see there being a lot of issues rising up not only for Bette and Tina but also the rest of this ever growing family. You have such an amazing way of creating unique and different scenarios for each of these groups of characters that intertwine with one another to create on incredible journey. Never fear I’m here till the end (you just better make sure thats a long ways off :P). Hugs, JC
