    Life: Altered 03.41 ~*~ Ying & Yang

    Life:
    Altered 03.41 ~*~ Ying & Yang

Alice wondered when her apartment had become
party central, the lights were dimmed, and music was playing.  It was almost like old times, even though a
few of the major players were missing.
    Kit
wasn’t there, nor was Bette, and Alice felt that gapping hole of their
    personality.
    Alice
didn’t linger on the thought it wasn’t
worth it.  The group had splintered, and
for now, there was no way to get them all together in one place.

Tina had stopped by earlier to pick up Daisy
having stopped for take out, then Cassandra had arrived with more food and
    beer.
    Alice
wondered if Tina and Bette had conferred about ***** women who
    drank beer.  BEER!
    Alice
had declined the offer of beer and had
opened up a wonderful bottle of wine that Quin had left at her place earlier
    that week.

Then Dana and Shane had come by with even more food.  Now there was Chinese, Cantonese, Italian
piled onto her kitchen table.  Forks in
most boxes, a few spoons, paper plates everywhere and she was sure she was in
party central when Dana turned on the old lava lamp at the end of one of the
    book cases.

They were all sitting in the living
room, no one really paid attention to the files that Daisy was guarding with
her life by the sofa.  Her hand drifted
to them every so often, as if checking for a pulse, her quick nimble fingers
drifting over the old battered files.

“You mean to tell me you and Oscar are going to start up a counseling
    service at the Center?”
    Tina
asked, sipping on the beer and Alice smiled.
She looked so happy, dotting on
    Cass
    .  Her eyes were
always lit up, dancing at the sight of the woman that had captured her heart,
    had stolen it from
    Bette
.  Alice kept having those thoughts, no matter
    what;
    Bette
and Tina were always the romantic duo to strive
    to be like.

They were sitting on the couch, Tina with her legs up on Cassandra’s
lap.  Cassandra was rubbing her legs
    gently, grinning.  Her strawberry blonde
hair was loose at her shoulders, wearing a sleeveless shirt that showed off a
cross and rose tattoo.  The name ‘
    Jacob
‘ was inscribed there.  Alice assumed it was someone who’d passed away
    that she’d cared about.
