    Life: Altered 03.41 ~*~ Ying & Yang

“She just needs some air….  Too much Jack…”
Daisy explained and she closed the doors, moving next to
    Shane
looking into her eyes.  Daisy turned her face to her, knowing
    something was wrong, she cupped
    Shane
    ‘s pretty face.
There were no sexual undertones it was strictly concern.

“You can see.”  Daisy stated and Shane felt her breath coming in hard spurts,
looking back into the room.  She saw
Cassandra for the first time, strawberry blonde hair,
    Tina
‘s hair was longer, and she seemed so
happy.  She then looked at Daisy,

“You are so pretty…”  Shane said, reaching out and touching her cheek.  Daisy smiled, one of the first true smiles
that Daisy had smiled in a long time.

“Thank you.”  Daisy said, and Shane saw her hand shaking hard, she snapped
her hand closed, shoving it into her pocket.
She turned away for a moment and Daisy said in a joyful voice.

“We have to celebrate…”  Daisy announced and Shane caught her hand as she walked to the
glass doors, shaking her head hard no.

“No, no, no.  Listen to me it’s happened before.  Twice now.
It goes away, this time it came back really hard, fast, and bright, but
when I close my eyes, it’s going to fade again.
In five minutes, in an hour, in a day, it will be gone again.”
    Shane
said very softly, turning and looking back out over
the city.  Her breath slowing, her body
relaxing.  Daisy crossed her arms, her
face back to being serious again.

“I use to look out on this city, my
city!  I was looking for something I was
looking for love.  But I was really
running away from it, cuz I never thought someone like me deserved to be
loved.  I ran away from a loving home, I
ran away from all the could be relationships.
I ran right into the arms of a married woman.  Whose husband beat me, raped me, and left me
blind.  It took me losing my sight to
finally see love.  If I get my sight
back, I might lose it again.”
    Shane
admitted and Daisy leaned on the
    banister.  She nodded, and
    Shane
looked over at her, she was wise beyond
    her years this young one.

“No you won’t.  Love like what you and Dana have, like Quin and Alice, even Cass and Tina, it doesn’t just crumble.  You have to use some huge explosives to
demolish that.  It might have taken you
being blinded for you to find it, but if you regain your sight.  You are the only one that can loose sight of
    your love for
    Dana
.  Only you can destroy it, only
you hold your fate in your hands.  You
can’t make love like that disappear.”
Daisy said in her smokey voice, “You can’t fake that, you can’t make
    that up, that is real.  What you have is real;
maybe you are scared of it being real.”
    Daisy offered.

“I am.”  Shane admitted, understanding that she was baring her soul
to a teenager; she sank down on the floor of the balcony.  Closing her eyes and sighing, hugging her
knees and Daisy hunkered down next to her, putting an arm around her tugging
her closer in a friendly manner.
    Shane
    opened her eyes and said,

“See, it’s gone.”  Shane said, the darkness back, dwelling in her mind and
rendering her sightless again.  A hot
    tear dropped from her eye.

“You need to see a Doc.”  Daisy said and Shane nodded,

“In the morning.”  Shane stated, wiping away the tear.

“Swear?”  Daisy asked and Shane nodded,

                “Yes.”  Shane promised.

“Good.  Let’s get you inside your lady friend is
looking for ya and I don’t want her thinking I’m moving in on her woman.  I mean gray hair and all.”  Daisy laughed and
    Shane
smiled, standing up with the youngster
and being led into the room.

    Would you
    give it up

    In an
    instant

    Trade one
    pain for another

    A
    different sort of life

    For a bit
    more pain

    A life of
    leisure

    For a
    life as a pauper

    Yet I’m
    the one in bliss

    Whose life
    is worth more

    You or I?

    As I work
    every day

    Striving
for the life handed to you

    Chipping
    away at a better life

    Not
    knowing I already have

    The most
    valuable things on earth

    Love

    You seek
    outside your life

    For what
    I already possess

    Yet I
    have no idea

    You’d
    hold it so dear

    I take it
    for granted

    Every
    single day

    All the
    while

    You
    overturn every stone

    For a
    glimmer of hope

    To lead
you to the path of love
