Life: Altered 03.63 ~*~ Fade Away

            Dana was pacing the waiting room, having had
to turn off her cell phone.  She was
getting offers from more sponsors; it seemed that Tonya really had worked her magic.  She didn’t know how she’d done it, but she
had.  She’d twisted the insanity into a
workable and manageable situation.  She
was a genius, not in bed, but at least in the world of selling stuff, and the
stuff happened to be Dana at the moment.

            Dana checked the clock; it had only been two
minutes since the last time she’d looked at her watch.  She sighed, her stomach growled, trying to
tell Dana that cup after cup of coffee just wasn’t
doing it.  It needed food and Dana just couldn’t bring herself to go get
some, because if something happened they wouldn’t be able to find her.  She rubbed her temples and finally sat down
on the comfortable looking chair.

            She was worried, no worried didn’t
cover the emotions she was shifting through at the moment.  It had been two hours, and she had gone
through every scenario possible, even some that just couldn’t happen had gone
through her head.  Like Shane waking up with x-ray vision had been one
of the more outrageous ones.

            She was worried about Shane because they’d begun their relationship
in a different way, with Shane unable to see. 
Shane unable to see the ***** and gorgeous
women that were always glancing her way. 
Would Shane revert right back to what she’d been doing before Dana had fallen in love with her?  She didn’t know and she was scared, *****
terrified was more like it.  In the back
of her mind, she almost wished that she wouldn’t be able to see at the end of
all of this. 

            Better
to bed the demon you know than the demon you don’t know.  Yet, she did know Shane, intimately and not just in bed, out of
bed too.  Shane could be monogamous, she’d been with Cherie, and a thought struck Dana. 
She pushed it out of her mind wanting to concentrate on Shane right now.  Nothing else mattered.  She got up again letting out a muted scream
and stomping her foot like a three year old having a tantrum.

            “Is that how you greet people?”  Samantha Vance asked and Dana‘s eyes went wide, Sam winked and motioned for her to
follow.  She pulled off the surgical cap
she was wearing, it was green with swirls of purple, and she stuffed it into
the blue scrubs.  Dana got over the being stunned part and
followed Sam, who didn’t say a word until they were
in the elevator.  What was Sam doing in Atlanta?
