                February –
    2006

     

                Bette and Candace‘s Gallery was going strong, so strong in
    fact that they were booked for two years in advance.  The CAC had courted     Bette     to go back, but she’d refused, later
    finding out that     Franklin     himself had been fired from the board.  What goes
    around, came around         Bette     had thought to herself.

     

                Bette‘s lust for finding artists with a voice,
    with nowhere else to show their work was becoming well known.  As was     Candace    ‘s unique way at displaying them.  Rosita had allowed Bette to display a replica of her mural of Max during Bette‘s second big showing, featuring street
    artists.  The reproduction had sold, and
    Rosita had asked her to donate the money to     Oscar     and the Center.

     

                They were happy, and immersed in
    their work, and their lives.

                Dana had regained her sponsors and gotten a
    few more, along with a new agent.      Tonya    . 
    Who parlayed everything and anything into an opportunity to show     Dana     and Shane off as a loving, monogamous couple.  It was working, a ploy that seemed to attract
    not only ***** women, but straight couples. 
    They were recognized often when together. 

     

                Shane‘s new job was at the Center, teaching,
    or all things how to cut hair and do make-up. 
    Giving a few young women something to do other than getting into trouble
    and getting into gangs.  She was a natural;
    the younger teenagers took to her and her honest ways.  She wanted to show them that the street
    wasn’t the way to live.  Rosita’s
    donation was being used to set up a scholarship fund, to get young     Latina    ‘s off the streets.

     

                Dana was playing her heart out, yet finding
    the time to just be herself with     Shane    , making a marriage work was hard work.  Neither of them ever forgot that, and never
    forgot to just love each other.  She’d
    been invited back to the Australian Open, and a few other grand slam
    events. 

     

                They’d been to Seattle twice, once to be on the radio show, and
    once just for a short vacation.  During
    which     Tina    , Cassandra, Daisy, Quin, and Alice had to drag them out of bed to see the
    city.  Literally.  Some things changed, but     Shane     never would.

    4. Ok, that was great! Hats off to you!! I never guessed that Cherie was the culprit and Tonya as Dana’s manager is somehow fitting here. As was stated before, we so appreciate the frequency of the updates and hope you will be able to continue with the Gathering. Now for the carrot that you dangled in front of all Tibetters: The song was good for the scene, but even more fitting for B&T. Yeah, B&C and T&C are matched “OK” (rolling my eyes), but where is the drama and excitement in that…I am not exactly sure where you are going next, but I am here for the ride. JKDWYD

    5. Oh where do I begin? Words cannot describe how I feel right now. I’m sad and happy at the same time. Happy because everybody is happy…and sad because the story has ended. I absolutely loved it, from beginning till the very end. I’ve read good fan fiction before, but never before have I read anything as brilliant as this fic. It’s destinctive, cause it’s not all about our L word girls. You’ve introduced so many new characters that I’ve grown to love. You’ve created relationships that at first sight seemed weird but turned them into relationships that we all dream off. Thank you for giving us the honor of reading your work. I will be reading more of your work and I’m very excited about your new story. J, you are so talented, it’s amazing!!! Thanks again ;)

    6. Excellent!!!!! I have to say that I was away for a few days and when I came back I had alot of catching up to do. I wanted to comment a few times, but there were already like 5 or 6 more chapters posted. Anyway, I was cracking up and found it very interesting when you wrote about Jenny’s new job @ HBO for a lesbian show, because the other show on another network was floundering in its 3rd season. I guess I just found it funny because there is so much hype for season 3. Anyway, loved your story and I really fell in love with all the new characters and the new relationships. Thanks Again!! Hope you have Happy Holiday!!!

    9. WOW! I’m speechless. So Happy w/ the way you ended your story, but sad to know these particular characters story will not con’t. Early morning, late evenings always checking for your fic reading it through tired eyes after & before work I was definitely hooked. Looking forward to your future fics & the Jaded Wind series.
