Life with Mom and Tina Ch 107

"Thanks." Tina said. Bette was beginning to pace. Tina watched them leave.

    "Tina." Bette said.

"Okay. When you disappeared everyone thought you were dead but Jess. She held out hope because of some stupid rhyme that you taught her. I am sad to say that it was the cause of some of our biggest arguments. Anyway the press had a field day. They were most interested in Jess." Tina said.

"Because of Andy." Bette said. She sat on the bed. She remembered the way the press reacted to Andy’s death. She and Tina were able to keep Jess away from most of it.

"Yeah. She didn’t take to well that they were digging through yours and Andy’s closets looking for anything they could, and they did. Jess was acting out. Shannon was at school, the boys and Angelica needed me. I couldn’t do it all. Jess saw that." Tina said.

"Let me get this straight, because Ian, Teddy, and Angelica needed you, you gave up on our daughter. The one person who needed you the most." Bette said angrily.

"It wasn’t like that. At first she was the rock that we all depended on and then when she let go of whatever strength she was holding on to everything crumbled. Everyone tried to get through to her, and it wasn’t until Shannon finished early from school that I saw Jess spiraling out of control. She was partying hard. She rarely came home. I relied on Shane, Alice and Dana to try and keep tabs on her. Even Laurie couldn’t get through to her. That’s when Julie stepped in. She hired Marty to control Jess. She is more than just a publicist. She is what Julie calls an enforcer. She has been controlling Jess’s public events ever since. She doesn’t know that I know." Tina said.

"I don’t know what to say. I don’t know if I am more upset that you didn’t tell me or the fact that you let some stranger control our daughters life for the past 6 months." Bette said and stormed out of the room.

"Bette, don’t leave like that." Tina called but it was too late the door had already slammed behind her.

    1. wow Bette is really angry! i wonder what she’ll do. Humm will Jess be able to play and concentrate on the game with the media going mad at her ?. Loving the story..post soon!.

    2. Another great chapter! Bette has the rigth to be upset but she need to listen Tina it was difficult time for all the family whe she was miss. I hope the team won’t freak ou on Jess. Good thing that Shanoon is there to support Jess they love so much each other.

    3. Well didn’t see that coming. Bette needs to understand that Tina could barely function when she thought the love of her life had died and she was overwhelmed at the thought of taking care of all the kids alone. Jess did act out and we know how difficult Jess can be when she is acting out, she needs to realize that Tina did the best she could plus the fact that Jess was practically an adult…people handle crisis differently. I am sure this mini scandal when fade. This is good please post soon.

    4. Okay, you said that they would be fine in the end, so I am placing all my trust into your hands. Bette and Tina do need to stay togehter. It is their love that brought this family together. Maybe this is the time for some healing between Shannon and Jess.
