    Melvin Porter pushed up from his chair; made the noises that old folks do when they move in certain directions.  Yes, Im a bit slower now.  It takes me a lot longer to do things.  Thats why I better start packing now.  I want to be on time to meet my new granddaughter on Thursday

     


     

     

     

    Bette and Tina got Angelica all tucked in for the night and got themselves settled on the couch in the living room.  Bette was lying lengthwise with Tina prone on top of her, her head resting on Bettes chest listening to the calming sounds of her heartbeat.  Bette rested her hand on Tinas hair. 

     

    This is nice, eh, T?

     

    Yeah, really nice.  This is everything I long ago envisioned it to be, babe.  Im so happy.

     

    Me, too.  We have us and we have our family.

     

    Babe, I was thinking about godparents or guardians for Angelica in case anything ever happened to us.  What do you think of naming Kit and Shane?

     

    I think thats a terrific idea.  And I think they would be thrilled.  I also need to get in touch with an attorney because I want to get the ball rolling for my adoption of Angelica.  Straight people have no freakin idea how lucky they are when it comes to this stuff – no idea at all.

     

    Well, some do, babe.  Its just not the ones who are in the position to change things – not yet anyway.

     

     


     

     

     

    Christ, Helena thought, this therapist has got to be the most boring ***** on earth.  The worst part is Mother had included in the papers signed that any therapist would have to be male.   What? Does she think I wont ***** a guy if its a means to an end?  Please.  Would I enjoy it?  No, but thats not the point, mother dear.   But this oneno way, darling, no ***** this doc.  *****, I dont think Id ***** him with someone elses genitals.   Now, that last therapist.  She was a sweet treat.  Oh, so easy to ***** that one.  Then she wouldnt allow it any longer.  Dont deny me what I want.  One call placed to a certain member of the Ethics Committee of the Board of Psychiatry simply started the ball rolling.  Terrible thing it was to cajole your vulnerable ***** patient into having ***** with you.  Last I heard she lost her license to practice.  What a pity
