With a mocking grin Candace said, Ill leave, Bette. Dont want to interrupt your little Ozzie and Harriett performance.
And with a voice a bit louder and directed to the phone, Tina, just remember, she was tempted so easily beforeit will happen again. No matter what shes told you or how many times shes said shes sorry, people like Bette Porter will always find the way to claim temporary insanity as an excuse to cover their tracks.
Bette was seething. Leave this office NOW! Stay away from me and my family. And remember that there are two other people that can now testify to the fact that you were here uninvited.
Sure, Bette. Just remember to give me a call when the pressures of life overtake you again and you have a need to be insane. My bed will always offer you asylum. Candace turned on her heels and stormed out of the office.
Bette sank in her chair. Thanks, James. You can leave now.

Bette picked up the phone receiver to return to private conversation.
T, Im sorry but I wanted you to hear it first hand and not tell you when I came home. Will this ever end? Bette felt the tears welling up. She tried fighting it but they escaped and were falling on the paperwork on her desk. Damn it
Babe, Im glad you called. Tina could hear the gentle sobs. Bette, it will end. Were still in the healing process. These people still evoke a bad memory but I promise the memory will blur and fade. It just takes time. I love you, baby. Dont crywell be all right.
I feel as if I started an avalanche with these people, T. And every time I dig myself out and think Im safe, some freakin piece of ***** comes rolling down the mountain again.
Bette, you had no control over Faye Buckley and her reaction to you. As far as Candace and Helena, well, they were mistakes we both made. The only control we have over them is our reactions to them.

Bette hung up. She looked out the window, let out a big sigh and went back to work.

Outside on the street leaning against her truck, Candace Jewel sighed also. It may have been over six months ago but the memory of her brief torrid affair with Bette Porter was still very fresh in her mind. Yes, I pursued her and didnt stop when I knew there was a girlfriend.so what? She certainly didnt act like she wasnt having a good time – until that morning she woke up with a conscience.
Did I really want to start up with her again? Nah, I just want her to always remember that I was the best mistake she ever made.
Oh, she will. Ill make damn sure of that. Candace smiled, got into her truck and drove away.

Oh boy, two posts in one day, thank you, thank you and loved them both. Now if someone could just have Helena and Candace disappear from their lives and find someone of their own. Now that would really make my day. I suppose that Bette is such a good lover everyone either wants her or wants her out of the way. You just can’t please everyone, especially Hellsno and Candy. At any rate two great stories in one day, wonderful and thanks very much.

Great chapters. I don’t know what is up with the candy kane, but she needs to try and get her licks some where else. I wouldn’t put it pass Helena to try and use her against Bette and Tina and wind up getting her hands a little sticky. Candace needs to be careful because not only will Tina kick her butt when she gets better, but Kit will be more than happy to knock her in the middle of next week. All of thier adviseries need to be aware that with Melvin in town and bonding with his family, there is another factor that they will have to deal with when it comes to f**king with the Kennard-Porter clan.
