Meet Bette Porter The 30 Yr OLd Virgin(29)

“You’re right Bette. My late husband, Gabe bought this for me as a birthday gift, but actually, he got tired from the busy and fast-paced environment of the business world and wanted to live a quiet life so he acquired this property. My husband by the way was fifteen years my senior and was the one who came here more often when he was alive. While I busied myself managing our businesses in the US and London he spent all his time here which eventually became his retirement house”

“Well I don’t blame him; anyone would love to have this place as their retirement house!” the younger brunette said

“I couldn’t agree with you more, I tell you what, why don’t you two freshen up, Luc here will escort you to the guesthouse, your things are already there so you’ll have your own privacy. I’ll just meet you Bette and Kit at dinner and by the way my daughter is also here and she’ll be joining us as well”

“Ok great!” the Porter sisters replied in unison

Helena was in her bedroom deep in her thoughts while sitting on the reclining chair when she heard a soft knock on her door. She sighed and said, “Come in”

Peggy went inside the room and smiled when she saw her only daughter sitting looking outside the big open window “How are you holding up sweetheart?” Peggy asked as she walked towards her daughter with her arms wide open. The older woman was happy, Helena’s sessions with her psychologist Dr. Lisa Catkins was having good effects on her and for that, she was thankful.

Helena stood up to meet her mother’s embrace “I’m fine mum…”

Until now, Peggy couldn’t believe the things that her daughter experienced in the hands of Catherine Rothberg, just remembering that day when Helena wept in her arms was still heartbreaking for her. At first she was mad at Helena for letting anyone treated her that way, she was a Peabody for crying out loud but she loved her daughter so much and nothing in the world she would give to her and so knowing that someone did horrible things to her only child was truly unacceptable. To Peggy no one had the right to treat a Peabody the way Catherine did to her daughter.

    2. This story is so complex, but great. If I ever attempted anything like this…I don’t know if I would be able to finish it. There’s just so many details in this story. Btw…their dinner made me hungry, but it’s 5:22a where I am so I will refrain from eating that type of meal, but maybe later in the evening or maybe just plain old crispy pata…thanks for the update.

    3. I wanted to answer your question first before I read this. Yes, I believe that we can all change if given the right circumstances to want to do that. It’s people who surround us that don’t allow us to change that’s the hardest part of life. Reputation is a tricky thing…
