“And what truth is that Shane? How he tried to kill me, how he was in love with you…oh god Shane….”
“Hey…..calm down….look we have a while before he will ask those kinds of questions. Just tell him….tell him he was a bad man…who tried to hurt you….and tell him he is dead…..the other stuff…well at least we are the only ones alive who know it right?”
“Yeah I guess…..”
“Come here……if you don’t want to tell him…..then we won’t….we will just tell him his father is dead. And he knows about us even though he doesn’t understand right now….when he gets older….then we will help him understand….ok?”
“So wise….and sexy too….god Shane….”
“I know baby I know…..”
“So you escaped a bomb…..god how many lives do you have?”
“Enough so I don’t have to leave you alone to fend for yourself…..I mean that thing you call cooking…I think Marco asking about Havoc is the least of your worries……hey………ouch!”
“Think next time before you insult my cooking…..you dare devil…you….”
A kiss for my girl. A kiss on the first place we made love. A kiss for all the things that I can’t tell her. A kiss for all the times we hurt each other. A kiss for us. A kiss for goodbye. A kiss to know once and for all that we are good. And we are getting better. She gets all hot her skin feels like fire. We should probably go and do Peggy’s dirty work so we can get on with our lives.
Carmen grabs my hand as we make our way back to the car. I let her drive back to L.A. we don’t really say much. Carmen keeps her eyes on the road and I keep my eyes on her. It hits me again that feeling of being free. I could sit here wind blowing in from the freeway; Carmen in her sexy cool sunglasses and feel like the end was around the corner…..but that feeling just isn’t here.

I cant believe its over… really, I couldnt decide if I wanted to see an update or not. Im glad they finally got an ending that was well deserved. Every twist and turn was worth the while and I cant thank you enough for taking the time to write this and letting us in into your little world. I love this series of stories and I love you.

I have a few more stories of yours to catch up before I read this last chapter. But I just wanted to say that I love all your work and like to thank you for giving us a refreshing story of Sharmen. Knowing that this is your last one, makes me sad. But all good things come to an end and we all have to live on. many many kudos to you!
Thank you… thank you for the wonderful series of stories. I love them all, and I love you. I wish you would continue writing, but i can understand when real life kick in. Your story is the best I have ever read. And I hope that you will continue writing, whether it is Sharmen fics, or other stories. A great end to a great story. It’s good to see that people with troubled pasts can exorcise their demons and live a fulfilling life. It’s an idea that I hold very dear. Seeing this evolution of Shane and of Carmen, seeing them learn that the present is much more precious than the past, seeing them endure the trials surrounding them, between them, and within themselves, well, it’s something else. Very few fics have had such an acute focus on character and character development as this saga had. You did an amazing job with that, really unbelievable. And the plot, well, that was frequently twisted and always mind-blowing. I frickin’ loved every word of it. So, thank you for sharing this story, and thank you for putting all this time and effort into it. And here’s hoping that the writing bug bites you again sometime. (ps: I haven’t forgotten your other stories, missy. [wink])
I haven’t read anything but the author’s note yet, but I just wanted to say right away, thank you. There are not enough good things I can say about this creation, so I won’t attempt to. Just know that I appreciate the time, creative energy, and brilliance you gave to this story. I hope that this will just be a break for you, and that Shane and Carmen, or whoever (but you know that S&C are my favorite, and I’m pretty sure yours too) will inspire more from you.
