    My Immortal – 4

“I’m not using my magic. Just look at me.” I avoid her gaze, but she shifts so that she is now straddling me. “Bette look at me.” She squeezes my chin and makes me look into her tear filled eyes. Her once perfect hazel eyes are now reddened and darker. Looking at her makes a tear fall down my cheek. “Bette you weren’t listening to me, I can’t tell you- but with your help I can show you.”

I tilt my head in udder confusion. “What the hell are you talking about?!”

“Bette, you’re a seer, I’m a pusher. I can push my memories into your brain and you can use your gift to see them more vividly.”

The tears continued to roll down her cheeks. I used my thumb to wipe a cascading tear off her check. “I don’t know if I can.” I admit. I may act like a badass, but I really have no use of my gift. I have no idea how to use it.

“I can show you, well I know someone who can. Do you trust me?” I could tell she was nervous about this.

I didn’t know what to make of it. Do I trust her? Well- I have no reason not to; but I also don’t have a reason to. So I leap. “I’ll trust you.”

“Alright, come with me.” She takes my and we get up off the couch and go to a secluded part of the apartment. She waves her hand in front of her face in a half-circle motion and say, “Portalalus.” I look at her confuse when the wall separates into a door arch. “What did you think I was going to say ‘open sesame’?” She giggles slightly at her joke. She takes my hand and smiles at my being hesitant to cross over into something I have no idea where it goes. “You said you’d trust me.”

I nod my head. “I did, I mean I do, but where are we going?”

“We are going to see my mother.” I can feel my face drop. All the muscles relax except for the ones that make my eyes bulge out of my sockets. From almost having sex on her couch to meeting her mom; this was definitely the most interesting night of my life.
