“Let’s go.”

“Not before I kiss you,” Tina said and she planted a steamy kiss on Bette’s lips. She then turned around and walked through the front door. Leaving a turned on Bette speecheless……..

Kit and Melvin

Kit took the earliest flight she could take to New York. She traveled first class and she could travel incognito. A lot of people didn’t recognize her and if they did, they always doubted themselves.

Kit was anxious, not knowing what to expect. She had called back to the nursing home and they faxed her information about her father. So during the flight she read about his health condition. It brought back memories……..

When the plane landed, she didn’t lost too much time at the customs. There was already a car waiting outside on her. She was happy that Jerry joint her. Sonny would come with their private jet after he’d dropped Junior off at his parents.

“Are you nervous, Kit?”

“I’d lie if I’d say I’m not. I’m nervous as hell. It is pretty serious from what I’ve read and he’s too weak to have surgery. I guess that there’s also a little stubborness to it too. We’ll see. I hope he’s still able to talk, because from what Marina, the nurse said, he’s weak.”

“What will you say to him?”

“I will let him talk, explain and listen. That’s all I can do right now.”

After an hour ride, they arrived at the nursing home. Kit was expected so she could walk through. She told the staff that Jerry was her manager who accompanied her. He could wait in a beautiful waiting area. Jerry didn’t mind. He was having problems with jetlag.

Kit followed the nurse to her father’s room. While walking to his room, she admired the building.

“Here it is, Marina will take over.”

“Thank you,” Kit said.

The nurse opened a door and Kit came into another room which was not the room where her father lay. A door opened and out came a very beautiful woman.

“You must be Kit Porter, my name is Marina Ferrer, I’m your father’s nurse.”

“Hi Marina, how is he?”

“Well, we asked him if we could send you his medical record because you were coming. Since he knows that, he is very vivid. He has a bright look in his eyes and he wanted to take a bath this morning. So given the circumstances he’s pretty good. He even ate. He’s in this room, follow me.”

Marina walked to a door, opened it and announced to Melvin Porter that his daughter arrived. Melvin turned his head and tears came into his eyes when he saw Kit standing behind Marina. Marina discreetly left the room to give father and daughter some privacy.

When Kit saw her father, tears also came into her eyes. Within two steps she was at the bed and hugged him real tight. He hugged her back as if he was going to loose her.

After several minutes they let go of each other and looked each other in the eye.

“Look at you, a spitting image of your mother. So beautiful. If it’s my time to go now, I can die in peace.”

“Ohh hush now old man, it’s not your time to die yet. I didn’t fly all those miles for you to die on me now. You better not do that. Look at you………” Kit sighed and hugged her father again, crying.

“It’s alright my child, it’s alright. I can’t die without seeing my girls. How are you and how is  my little princess?”

Kit sighed and told her father she was alright. Bette on the other hand was a long story. But they had all the time to talk about it.
