    New York Minute

    Chapter 22

    Bette threw her pen down got up and walked around for a few minutes. Finally she picked up her coffee mug and went to wash it out. James was in the small kitchen area cleaning the percolator. Bette looked at the percolator as James rinsed the glass jug

    “How’s the company credit card bill looking ?” Bette asked him

    “Less than a $1000 I think – why ?“

    “Well at some point before Christmas I think you and I deserve a better coffee machine. And maybe see if you can find a microwave for us “

    James looked at Bette

    “Feeling generous “ he commented

    “I just think the two of us work our asses off – well you do and I take days off when I feel like it. We should look after ourselves better “

    “Actually I did wonder about maybe buying a cheap toaster or sandwich grill “

    Bette nodded

    “Take the card out and give it a bashing – we can afford it. And at some point I want to discuss what your Christmas bonus will be “

    James smiled “Having two weeks paid leave will be fantastic Bette “

    Bette nodded “We have both earned it “

    “Actually I wanted to ask you something “

    Bette raised her eyebrow at him “ Go on “

    “Molly would like to invite you, Tina and Angie round at some point. I know that you are going away for the weekend but some time the weekend after. I am sure that Martha and Angie would like each other. And Molly really wants to meet Tina after everything that I have told her “

    “And what have you told her ?”

    “That she’s the love of your life and that you just adore her and Angie “

    “And I have become less of an ogre since they arrived “

    James shook her head “ You were an ogre in LA when we worked for CAC — you are not an ogre any more “

    “Really ?”

    He shook his head “ Pussy cat “

    Bette grinned “ Damn “

    He laughed “ Its wonderful to see how you light up when you talk about Tina and Angie “

Hey Ally, I am so glad that Bette and Tina have found each other again and are building a family for Angelica.They have been through so much heartsche that it is difficult to accept their friends’ admonishment of their renewed partnership.They have each grown up and are ready and willing to fully commit to each other.What comes through these magical words in the strength of their love and eagerness to begin again.There is hope and love for us all.And yes, Bette is an expert in love making but I would love to read how she lets go and allows herself to enjoy Tina’s talents too.More please.Just amazing.Your Loyal Fan.

    4. Fantastic chapter AllyE. It’s great they have informally committed themselves to each other and their lives together again. Hopefully they will make a more formal commitment to each other and to Angie sometime in the future. I’m really surprised at Alice’s vehemence to them being together again and I still think it is a bit of jealousy on Alices’ part, maybe or maybe not, whatever it may be Alice has shown herself to be a fairweather friend. So it is fine that Tina and Bette both have written her off. Kit, I don’t understand at all. Know you will reveal all to us at some point when it is appropriate in the story. Thanks for posting.
