    The one where Tina talks about Bette and they continue to get used to being a family

    “Yes – I am sure that in time your friends will come round “

    Tina shook her head “Alice – she was Bette’s best friend – they go further back than Bette and I . She’s really hostile to us – Bette’s hurt by that – I think too much has been said – too many words that cannot be taken back”

    Casey nodded “One of the friends that was most appalled by me – she thought I wasn’t good enough for Jess. Anyway – she died in a car crash 18 months ago. Jess was devastated and what made it worse was the last thing that Jess had said to her was harsh – is it worth arguing ?”

    Tina swallowed “ The only person who kept in touch with Bette was our friend Dana – she died of breast cancer and Bette didn’t find out for about four months because she wasn’t in contact with any of us. I would hate for that to be repeated. “

    “You should do what you can to keep the channels open “ Casey said

    “It has to be a two way thing. We went to LA for my job interview and we both hoped that if they saw us together they would see that Bette had changed and that Angie just adores her. “

    “No good ?”

    “Bad in every way – Kit and Alice just refused to see things from our point of view. It was hard for her “

    “And you “

    Tina nodded “I changed my life and Angie’s when I decided to fly to New York to see Bette. I knew exactly what I was getting into. “

    “You knew Bette would want you back ?”

    “We both knew that – we had been talking every day – sharing what we had been up to since we were together – talking about our feelings” Tina shook her head “We communicated more in that first few weeks than I think we did for the last year we were together “

    “When you cannot communicate it is the beginning of the end. The thing with me is that for all the smart outfits and daughter at a great school – for all that I am basically a stereotypical Australian . I like nothing more than a few tinnies and a Barbie . I say way too much – there tends not to be a off button with me . So I wade in and I hurt Jess by saying things that I shouldn’t. My problem is probably too much communication “

    3. Great one again, AllyE. Have thought since Tina lost out on the job that she wanted that it was helena being a bad ass and bad mouthing her that lost that job for her. The people were all set to hire her and after the LA interview they didn’t. Helena got wind of it and somehow scotched it for her. I thought that Bette should have talked to Peggy or called in some markers from friends to get that taken care of. Helena should not be allowed to get away with her actions just because Tina chose to be with Bette. Hope it can be turned around for her and they call her back to the job. Thanks for posting.

    8. Thank you for the update on NYM, but you had already posted chapter 39, I guess it was just a refresher, due to the time span. I loved it Angie is the best nd you write her so well. B&T are of course awesome.
