    Chapter 28, Part 2: Ladies, get in line (Bette and Tina visit the CAC and we meet a few new faces)

    (Previously) When Tina came out of the bathroom, Bette was still sitting on the edge of the bed in the same pose with her eyes closed, listening to the songs and Tina noticed tears coming down her cheeks.

    “Bette, is something wrong?” Tina asked, worried that the music brought back some memories of her sister Katie.

     

    “It is so beautiful,” Bette said in shaky voice, “Kit has an amazing voice and even though her style and repertoire are different, her voice reminds me of Katie’s.”

    “Is it a good thing or a bad thing?” Tina asked hesitantly.

    “Oh, it is absolutely a good thing. It feels like I have Katie with me again. I think I would like to spend more time with Kit,” Bette smiled through her tears. She pulled Tina towards her and kissed her tenderly. The blonde put her arms around Bette, enveloping her in a tight embrace and for a moment Bette’s world was a perfect place once again.

    Place: Los Angeles, CA – the CAC

    Year: Oct. 31, 2005 – Monday

    Bette and Tina arrived at the CAC a little before 12 and walked straight to Professor Franklin’s office, leaving a note with the front desk clerk for Alice to join them there.

     

    Tina went inside the office alone at first because Bette stopped to look at a painting that was displayed right beside the door.

     

    “Tina Kennard,” the professor said, extending his hand to Tina. “What a surprise…did you bring something else to restore or analyze?” he asked teasingly.

     

    “Professor, nice to see you again,” Tina said, sounding really excited. “I would like you to meet someone and tell you about our little mystery with the miniature painting.”

     

    “Ah, the miniature painting,” Franklin replied, “Did you find something exciting about it?”

     

    “Yes, and you wouldn’t believe what we had found. But first, meet Elsa Porter…we call her Bette,” Tina turned around and noticed Bette still standing by the door. She waved at Bette and invited her to come in. “This is Bette, Kit’s Porter half sister, born and raised in Switzerland and don’t ask how it happened…it’s a painful subject for her,” Tina said quickly, hoping that the professor would have enough common sense not to enquire further.

    1. Whoa…I missed this last night. I went to bed before you posted, but it was a triffic surprise when I got home from work tonight! So, Bette is going to work…will Tina get her a Social Security Number? You little devil…throwing in Candace. Super update and you know what B&TF, if people aren’t reading this story, it is their loss, because it is a great story. It’s haunting like the movie Somewhere in Time.

And again, I’m really sorry if I haven’t commented on the last few chapters, but I’ve been ourt of town for a couple of weeks and then my internet connection has been down for almost a week… So anyways, let’s just say I’ve only started catching up on my fan fiction reading yesterday. And usual, no matter how many chapters I read in a row, I confess I always want more of this story !! This is how talented you are B&TF !

    4. Maybe Helena and Candace can hook up and leave Bette and Tina alone. Alice is right, both Bette and Tina are hot and anybody in their right mind would find one or both extremely sizzling.

    5. Uh, B$TF [whispering] The last chapter got 4 comments. So 4 is magical,too. Besides, Jennfer Beals luvs you. Nothing else matters !!!! You’ve complicated the plot with Candace and Helena. I guess The Twink and Nadia wouldn’t quite fit the romance. Anyway, I can’t wait for the magical 3 next chapter.
