Chapter 41: Landing is better than take-off (Bette and Tina are going to Boston)

(Previously) “One of these days, Porter, you’ll find yourself alone, and you’ll come to me, and you’ll cry, and you’ll beg and I’ll say – remember how you treated me?” Alice said, folding her arms on her chest with annoyance.

“Alice, Alice…you know that I love you…we all love you,” Bette leaned towards Alice and gave her a hug. Alice smiled and just nodded her head.

Just then Kit walked in with poinsettia flowers and a huge cake, “What have I missed, girls,” she asked playfully, giving everybody a hug and kissing Bette on her cheek. “Looks like you all have been having a lot of fun already.”

“Just some fun,” Bette replied, getting up, taking cake from Kit and carrying it to the kitchen. “Who’s ready for coffee and dessert?”

Place: Los Angeles, CA – Tina’s house

    Year: Dec. 28, 2005 – Wednesday

Bette was sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee and reading a newspaper. She was so consumed by the article about the opening of a new art gallery in West Hollywood that she didn’t hear Tina, who came in quietly from behind and slid her arms around Bette’s shoulders.

“Morning, babe,” she whispered, kissing Bette on the back of her neck.

“Morning, sleeping beauty,” Bette replied, putting away the newspaper and giving Tina a proper morning kiss.

“How long have you been awake?”

“Just an hour or so…I couldn’t sleep.”

“I thought I would have exhausted you last night,” Tina giggled at the memory of their lovemaking. It was romantic and tender at first, but then Tina became intense and ravenous, leaving Bette speechless and unable to move for almost an hour.

“Yes, you were insatiable last night. What has gotten into you, Ms. I-can’t-get-enough?”

“You got under my skin, baby and if I remember right, I didn’t hear you complaining last night about it.”

“My complaints were muffled by your passionate kisses.”

“If you still have complaints,” Tina said seductively, pulling away from Bette and walking slowly back to the bedroom, “I’ll be in my office to review them. My office is open only for another hour or so before I close it for the holidays.”

    1. Bette on an airplane cracked me up. I have been on a number of plane rides and can understand the take off fear. I have come to make fun of them now.
