Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 52
‘You’re such a coward, Kennard,’ the voice in her head scolded her.
‘Yes, I know…I just couldn’t tell her,’ Tina’s mind replied to herself, ‘Bette will never forgive me if I tell her now, after hiding the fact that I knew about Christina surviving the shooting. I can’t lose Bette…I can’t live without her. Maybe she will never find out and everything will remain as it is…’
‘Maybe…but what if she will find out somehow? Isn’t it better to tell Bette now and face the consequences rather than let her learn some other way and be angry at you for hiding such important information from her for so long? You should tell Bette…tell her…now…’ the voice drifted off, leaving Tina confused and anxious.
“I can’t…” she whispered, wiping the tears that came down her cheeks as soon as she opened her eyes.
“You can’t what, babe?” Bette suddenly asked, making Tina gasped. She thought that Bette was still asleep and didn’t want her to witness the inner struggle that she was going through.
Tina lifted her head and saw Bette looking at her, “How long have you been awake?”
“Just a few minutes,” Bette replied, touching Tina’s wet cheeks. “What’s going on, T? You’ve been crying…you’re talking to yourself…what’s wrong? Talk to me, baby.”
Tina clung to Bette, tightening her arms around her lover’s neck, “Nothing’s going on,” she whispered into Bette’s shoulder, placing a small kiss on the spot where her lips connected with the skin. “I don’t want to lose you, Bette…you are the love of my life and no matter what happens in the future, I want you to know that I love you so much and I want to be with you forever.”
“The feeling is mutual, Tina,” Bette replied, kissing Tina’s forehead, “I will love you forever.”
They stayed in each other’s arms for a moment until Bette turned on her side and looked at Tina with a slight frown.
“T…how do you know that I’m the only one for you, that I am your soul mate?” Bette asked, pondering about the intensity of their love.
“It’s easy…I know it because when I think about being without you I want to curl up and die. When I see you watching me in the morning I pray that I will see that beautiful sight for the rest of my life. When your lips touch mine I realize that no one could ever love me with more desire and intensity…” Tina cupped Bette’s face with her hands and gazed at her, “When I look into your beautiful eyes I can see your soul in there. I feel mesmerized by these deep brown pools and I don’t want to look away…do you want me to continue?” she smiled.
“Yes…but I think I got the idea,” Bette smiled back and leaned for a kiss. “I feel the same, Tina. You’re the only one who makes me feel alive and loved beyond any dream. I want to be your first, last and forever. I want to be with you forever…I choose you.”
They held each other in comfortable silence, both thinking about their promises and revelations until Bette kissed Tina once more and said, “Let’s get ready. I don’t want to give Alice another reason to make fun at our expense.”

Tina, Tina, Tina. Sigh. Do we get to vote? Can I pretend that there is a poll? Pretty please????!!!!! Coz at this point, iu din”t think Bette should ever find out that Tina knew that Christina lived. I think Bette shoyld find out so that she can choose (we all know who she’ll picked :-) ). As I have said before, I adore this story. You create such a dilemma for me. I love your reports. I love this story. Hmm. OK. I will take my comfort in your promise to finish it. After all, if you don’t we all know how to track you down—at the next L event! Don’t think I won’t do it!!!!!!!!!
Finally caught up with this story, I’ve missed it! Oh Tina, she can’t hide that from Bette, she has to have more faith. Dreadful old woman, Clarice and Bette’s sketch of Tina in the past. Hmm… still can’t link them together yet, hopefully more clues to come, thanks for the update and PPS!
Poor Tina,I unterstand her.Love this story.PPS
Excellent update and I have missed this story. Thank you so much for posting. I feel for Tina but I think she should tell Bette before it hits the fan. Thank you again.
I started reading on this site with this story, I still look forward to each chapter.
Just got into this, I had to go read the previous chapters. That sketch was interesting. (Looking into my crystal ball) I see a bright future for Tina and Elizabeth. Bette was able to make a sketch of tina, so in the near future they will actually meet in the past. (Uh, if that doesnt give one a headache.) Christina of 1885 must be a previous incarnation of 2006 tina and if christina didnt in fact die in 1885 and tina goes back to that time, im in for a bigger headache am i not? Oh this is exciting, thank you.
