Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 61

Is the time portal still open? Will Bette come back or decide to stay with Christina, her first love? Did Bette actually travel safely through the portal and ended up in 1886? So many questions that didn’t have answers and it made Tina feel frustrated and vulnerable. She woke up each morning restless and exhausted, facing another day without answers.

The trip might do me some good, Tina thought absently, listening to Alice who was now telling the story about running into one of her exes that was still holding grudge against her.

“So I’m just drinking my coffee and minding my own business when Gabby walked in and demanded to know why I broke up with her like ten years ago.”

“Didn’t you go through that conversation ten years ago?” Dana asked, not taking her eyes off of kindle that Alice got her for her birthday.

“Yes, and again 5 years ago when I ran into her at the vagina rejuvenation center. She just doesn’t get it.”

“Gabby is a first-rate bitch. I’m glad you saw her for who she is, Alice,” Shane joined the conversation. “Talking about serial cheaters. At least I’d never promised anything to anyone.”

“Well, I hope you’ve changed, baby or you are going to break your first promise,” Carmen smiled, squeezing Shane’s hand.

“I finally met my match and that doesn’t happen very often,” Shane smiled back.

Tina listened to their conversation keeping her eyes closed. She was really happy for her friends who had found true love amidst all the lesbian drama that WeHo was so famous for. She was especially happy for Shane because it took her a long time to get where she was and Tina was glad that Carmen stayed around long enough to see through Shane’s walls and give her a chance, give their love a chance.

The car suddenly went quiet and Tina realized that they stopped. None of them had visited the mansion in a while and Tina was once again struck by its beauty and grandeur. After the renovations for her documentary were finished, the construction crew put private property signs everywhere in addition to the fences. Tina hoped that these precautions would keep any intruders away. Kit didn’t see the need for the permanent security guards but she hired a local private security company to send someone once in a while to check on the mansion.
