Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 61

“That Bette is back with her first love and maybe she had forgotten me already.”

“Tina, it’s been two weeks. It’s impossible that Bette could forget you so quickly. I can only imagine what she is going through back there. She needs to explain to everyone, including Christina, where she’s been for the last six months. Tee, I’m sure when the news of her return will finally die down, she’ll have more time and opportunity to let you know somehow that she is okay.”

“You think so?” Tina’s heart again filled with hope.

“Absolutely,” Alice replied with confidence. “In the meantime, lets enjoy our vacation and use this time to get you more famous in Hollywood.”

Tina’s laughter was echoed by everyone. It was a welcomed sign to see that their friend was almost back to her old self. “Yeah, right. As if obscure mystery documentaries made anyone famous. If it doesn’t have vampires or werewolves in them, then forget about the fame.”

“Well, let’s find us some mystery that includes vampires,” Alice winked. “We can make a trip to the local library tomorrow and peruse their old newspapers section. I’m sure we can find something interesting.”

Tina’s mind began sending her signals that something else can be searched in the library. “Oh my God, Alice. That’s a great idea but I might need more help from you.” Tina’s voice was filled with anxiety and excitement. Alice smiled, hoping that Tina was finally coming out of the miserable state she was in for the past few weeks.

“Anything for you, Tina. What do you need?”

“Remember how the newspapers accounts of the events kept changing when the past was changed?”

“Oh yeah, like that newspaper article about Bette’s murder changing into the case of kidnapping.”

“Exactly. We can search for all the newspapers from the time Bette went back and see if anything we know about in her past had changed. That might give us some clues.”

“Brilliant. I love me some investigative research.” Alice’s smile grew bigger. Tina looked very excited and Alice gave her a tight hug. Everyone joined in for a group hug, feeling hope and excitement as well. Bette was missed by all of her friends and they wanted her back safe and sound.
