Chapter 2

Traffic was light for once, and only an hour and a half after leaving Alice’s apartment, Dana was tipping the bellhop for helping them with their bags as Alice survey the ocean view visible from their gorgeous suite at the Biltmore.

The brunette walked over to Alice, wrapping her arms around the blonde’s waist, absolutely loving the contented sigh Alice let out.

“Hmmm, I take it you approve,” Dana whispered.

“I very much approve,” Alice said. Before she could continue, however, her stomach let it be known that it did not approve of being neglected. “and apparently I am very hungry as well.”

“Well, we’ll just have to fix that. I can’t have you dying of hunger on me,” Dana replied playfully.

Alice turned in Dana’s embrace so she was now facing her girlfriend, “No you can’t.”

“Do you want to order room service, go to the restaurant downstairs, or go into town,” Dana asked?

“Let’s go downstairs, it might be the last time I let you out of this suite until we checkout,” the blonde replied in between placing kiss on Dana’s jaw line.

“Is that a promise,” came low, and husky response?

“You better believe it,” Alice said placing one last kiss on Dana’s lips before stepping out of her embrace.

“Let me freshen up real quick and then let’s head downstairs.”

Ten minutes later the couple strolled into the hotel’s restaurant hand in hand. Since it was an odd hour, a little too early for the dinner crowd, the restaurant was practically empty and as they took their seats at one of the tables at the patio, they notice they had the area all to themselves for the moment.

After drinks were ordered, the two women looked over the menu trying to decide what seemed to suit their fancy. Dana had yet to let go of Alice’s hand, gently stroking it with her thumb as Alice talked animatedly about what sounded good to eat and how hungry she was.

Dinner was spent talking about everything- their friends, the latest LA gossip, Alice’s work, and Dana’s training.  It was as they were sharing a dessert that Dana realized that they hadn’t really been out on a date. They usually just hung out either of their place’s or at the Planet. The thought that she had been a bad partner did not sit well with the athlete.

“What’s wrong Dane,” Alice questioned, noticing the other woman’s suddenly serious demeanor?

“I was just thinking that this is the first real date we have been on that isn’t at the Planet or either of our apartments and we’ve been dating for five months,” Dana said honestly. “And I sorry for that… I guess these last two days made me realize how much of a bad girlfriend I’ve been.”

“Hey, that’s my girlfriend you’re talking about, hussie,” Alice said teasingly, before leaning in to plant a kiss on Dana’s lips. “I like the Planet. I like our apartments. I love you. I really don’t care what we do, but if you want to go out more on date dates I am up for that too.”

“Maybe we could try to go out on a date date once a week,” the athlete suggested, smiling at the thought. “I know we won’t always have time but we could try. What do you think?”

“It’s a deal, baby,” Alice said leaning into kiss Dana once again. This time when she broke the kiss, she leaned closer and whispered into Dana’s ear, “How about we move this back to our room?”

“Yes dear.”
