Sacred Wound_Chapter 3
The gang refused to move from the couch as they look on their friend who was now on the carpet sobbing hysterically. So many times before they would take Bette and embrace her, but this time, it was different. Caramel Eyes needs to cry it out once and for all. “This is her battle and she knows it; we can’t help her unless she wants us to.” Alice whispers as she intertwines her hands with the two women sitting beside her.
Alice likes to think that every lesbian know each other. Instead of six degrees of separation, it’s more like three with lesbian. The world is small, but the lesbian world is much smaller. “We need to find Tina.”
“How? Where? If you couldn’t find her, how can we?” Dana questioned the reporter as she takes a bite out of her crumb cake. “Besides, what if she’s gone? No one has seen her since last week, and we’re not sure if that was even Tina. It could have been someone else.”
“My sources are reliable. They said it was Tina, and I believe them.” Alice snapped.
“Yeah, but is she still here?” Shane voiced her question. “How do we know she’s still in California? Or here for that matter? She might be off in ____ city by now. We just don’t know.”
“Believe me, reporter’s instinct, and something tells me that Tina is still here. Maybe closer than we think.”
“Okay, say we find Tina. Then what?” Dana inquired. “Remember what Bette told us, yesterday? Not to bother with it. Or did you already forget?” Dana looked at her blonde friend who seems to be in a trance.
“Oh my goodness? There’s Tina!” Alice jumped up from her chair and race to the door to follow the figure that she saw walking by the large window. Shane and Dana followed.
“Darn it! Excuse me!” Alice yelled as she pushes the customers to the side, as they were trying to get in The Planet. “Fuck!” The blonde reporter yelled when she finally made it outside. “She’s gone.”
“What is it, Al?” Dana looked around to see what Alice was chasing after. “It was Tina. I saw her. I know it’s her. Believe me.” Alice muttered as she tries to catch her breath.
“You saw Tina?” A voice appeared from behind them. They turned to see Bette and Emily. The gang lied. “No.” Bette knew they were lying.
“Who’s Tina?” Emily looks at her girlfriend for an answer. “She’s an old friend of ours. She left us and we haven’t heard from her since.” Bette told half truth. “Let’s go inside and get our coffee.”
