Alice : ” Shane, it is very important for you to know that Meg called me this morning before you and we met at The Planet this afternoon. She’s terribly confuse too and she loves you very much. You have to be fair with yourself, but with her too She thought that she had you But you kinda ruined the plan that she had when you brought the whole actual girlfriend thing, she didn’t know at all. It kinda broken her heart.”
Shane : ” She did what? She called you and you met? My! I didn’t know that it was hard on her like this! She’s so Zen about it! I didn’t meant to hurt her Hooo! Meg! Dammit! Why? Why didn’t she said something to me?”
Alice : ” Because she’s hurt and she doesn’t want to hurt you anymore, and that she’s giving you space and time She asked my advice on this situation and I told her how I felt in all this. That’s it!”
Tina : ” She knows that she caused you pain in the past and now with the travelling contract, but she ain’t stupid She knows that you need time to figure out what’s going on and what decision you have to make and what situation you have to face.”
Shane : ” One thing I know for sure is that I never loved someone in my life like I love her”
Alice : ” Who? Your girlfriend or Meg?”
Shane : ” Meg. I mean, she’s dedicated to her work and all, but she’s also sweet, attentive to my needs and I know that she’ll do anything for me! But at the same time I’m scared to death that when she’ll leave for this huge trip, she’ll never come back to me like she promised, I’m scared that she’ll leave for good, again.”
Alice : ” So you’re facing a lack of self confidence more than anything else.”
Tina : ” You’re going through some hard times and you should sit down and think about all options that you have before making a decision and you should base this decision on your heart and feelings more than on your head and conscience.”
Alice : ” Tina is totally right! Who’s in for dessert?”
Shane : “I’m in for coffee more than dessert!”
Tina : ” I’m in for both options!”
Alice gets up and prepare plates of apple pie and turns on the coffee machine.
Shane : ” You know, I waited a long time for her to come back, When Meg left 10 years ago, I asked myself over and over again if I did something wrong, if I scared her off or something

I hope you see this as the constructive comment it is intended to be.
I realize that Meg is your character, and since it was taking so long (10 chapters) for the mystery person to be revealed, I started loosing my zest to see if anything new had been posted.
Yes, you reeled me in and I remained glued here, but IMO, the mystery would have carried more weight and made the suspense worth it, IF the mystery person had been someone we were familiar with…..unless there’s a Meg floating around that I am unaware of.
Somehow, I feel that the fizzle is gone.
