    Seemingly Lost Chptr. 14

    “Justine.”

“She can’t possibly be the sole reason you turned into the person who even now can’t see what’s in front of you?”

“No, no she’s not, but she is apart of the base of it all.” Tina said now wiping her tears on the jacket Bobbi offered her as the wind had picked up a bit. “I wanted her so badly. But I was to afraid to voice what it was that I was feeling.”

“So you were afraid to voice how you felt for Justine?”

“No, Bette. I was trying to figure out how to get through the days without lusting after her and ruining our friendship. And along came Justine, she was just so blatant and very up front with how she wanted me, but she wasn’t willing to be monogamous at all.”

    “That’s very important to you?”

“Very. I like the familiarity of just one person. Like getting to know their weird habits, detecting their moods by body language, being able to communicate with just one look, being able to predict their movements throughout the day is very satisfying. If you spread yourself between this person or that person, how much time are you giving them to familiarize themselves with you?” Tina finished with her eyes piercing straight to Bobbi’s.

“I see.” Bobbi said drinking in Tina’s very strong opinions.

“So I kept myself distracted from Bette with this false perception of love. Eventually I forgot what it was that I wanted, really wanted in life from the woman I loved. I guess by keeping myself blind from my own desires, I shielded myself from the lies I knew Justine was telling me. And here I am today.” Tina said raising her arms above her head with a forced smile. Seeing the compassion flicker in Bobbi’s eyes made Tina cries burn that much more. She lowered her head and cried harder into her sleeve, not knowing how it was that she was this wrecked mess in front of what was turning out to be a true friend and confidant.

“Sweetie, you’re on your way to finding her again, it’s good to finally voice what sits inside you for so long, doesn’t it?” she said hugging Tina, she felt the tugging of her chin in her shoulder as Tina nodded in agreement. “I love you Chris, I really do, but this ain’t where you’re supposed to be. I know you were on your way somewhere and stopping here just won’t help you find what you need darlin.”
