Carmen looked shocked but Shane didn’t, she merely sat there looking ticked and nodding to Alice’s question.

“Oh bad idea,” Tina said over the lip of her coffee mug.

“What? Why?” Carmen asked T, then turned her attention to Al, “And how do you know the exact details of the bet?”

Tina and Alice shared a look and turned to answer Carmen’s question.

“As Alice said, it’s a classic ***** mistake. Most of us had tried it, and it never, ever works. You always end up doing it before the end of the bet, which proves nothing to either of you except that you can’t keep your hands off each other which is a good thing!” Tina tried to explain.

“You just don’t think we can do it!” Carmen realized in disbelief. “And there’s a difference between can’t keep your hands off each other and ***** as an addiction-”

“No there’s not-” Alice mumbled into her iced-capp. Carmen looked at her in shock.

“I can’t believe you think we can’t do it!”

“That’s not what we sai-”

“No, wait T.” Bette said through squinted, thinking eyes. Dana was doing the same thing and they both seemed to come up with the same idea at the same time.

“I want in,” they both said that same time, then looked at each other and laughed.

Shane perked up for the first time and almost smiled. Carmen looked slightly confused.

“Want in on what?” Carmen asked, still oblivious as was Alice, but Tina was starting to clue in.

“Oh no,” T mumbled.

“The bet. I want in.” Bette finished and Carmen seemed to contimplate.

“You got it,” Shane said almost immediacy and Dana smiled in triupmh.

“Shane!”

“What? It’ll make it more interesting, and we might actually have a chance of winning if I want participate.”

It only took Carmen a minute to think it through and agree. Tina was shaking her head as Alice was starting to like the idea.

“I’m in too!” She said happily.

“Okay place your bets,” Carmen said throwing her hands up in defeat as Dana, Bette, Alice and Shane quickly cleared off the table and Shane leaned over it with a pen and a napkin as the others leaned in too.
