Something so right – chapter 24

    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

    Chapter 24

Bette poured herself a coffee and returned to her computer. As she had known when she had spent a few hours in her office on Friday she was inundated with work. As soon as she had got into work on Monday she had called James into her office and outlined her plans for their new work schedule. She was giving him a minor raise and a new office – he was going to become her deputy and he was to have his own areas of responsibility.

They could hire a receptionist from an agency while they searched for someone who fitted the bill as James assistant. Bette had costed it all out when she was in Hawaii and knew it was something she should have done months ago when the gallery turned such a profit after its last exhibition. She had held off at the time due to caution but now she wanted to spend more time on her private life it was worth the effort and it would free her to concentrate on the bigger aims of the gallery – and it would allow her to devote more of her time to her next exhibition which was going to be talked about as all her shows were.

All day Bette had wanted to phone Tina because she knew that she was telling Henry her conversion but she had held back. Bette didn’t wanted to crowd Tina which she was afraid that she might. So Bette had sat at her desk and worked – firing off emails, making phone calls and walking round the gallery a couple of times to decide how best to stage Max’s work.

She had worked through lunch as she juggled how best to arrange the work between her and James and dealing with the immediate demands on her time. Bette opened an email and thought about how best to reply to it when James opened the door and walked in carrying a small paper bag

Bette raised her eyebrow quizzically at him

    “This was just delivered

    “What is it ?”

He placed it on her desk

“I could get it sent off for analysis but I think it’s a tuna and onion sandwich on wholemeal bread with a small candy bar “

    1. Hello Ally, I absolutely love this story… there is just something about how these two relate within your beautiful words that just seems so very real… like I have met them before. I love how Tina reacts to Bette’s past… the green she sees is just so perfect and I would love to see her in a throw down with someone showing the world just who owns Bette’s heart… I can just see how turned on Bette would be after that… “ummm T… yeah we gotta go… there’s a fire that needs your attention… like NOW!!!” hehe… love it. Keep em coming… any chance that you might consider doing a sequel to “Let It Be” I loved that story completely and would love to see you continue with it… and of course I love “Love and Pride” and well ummm “The L Wing” and ummmm… well you get the picture… pleeasssee… :P… Sincerely, JC

    2. Hey AllyE, Agree that this story just gets better adn better. Love how Bette and Tina are just getting to know enough each as their love develops and gets stronger at each turn. Yes, they still have issues; Bette’s jealousy and Tina’s insecureness, but they are trying to work through them. Communication is key here and boy these gals can connect on so many levels, Brilliant and a real joy to read. I ADORE IT! Many, many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    3. Why is Tina being so afraid? I mean how bad can it be, she will get people hitting on both of them everywhere and if that place was Bette’s territory as she says it is then she can handle whatever might happen there, it will happen no matter how long she push it, so get real Tee. I love this story Ally, you are brilliant. post soon dear. Thankx

    4. AllyE, sorry for being a silent reader. All I can say you sure know how to make it it difficult for me to choose which one I like the best. So I am just going to say all of them -).I love this story so full of tender moments between two soul mates. So keep the story coming … well actually keep them all coming. Thanks for sharing

    5. Well, I am glad that Tina is holding out on tell Eric the Ass…I think it’s more fun this way. Also, Tina MUST grow up and know that Bette loves her and that she is going to take care of her at Liquid. She needs more self-confidence.

    6. Fabulous update Ally. Yep, Tina needs to go to the bar and get over this obsession she has. She needs to see that Bette only has eyes for her. This is such a good story!

    7. Love this story. Love that Bette gave James more responsibilities. I love that Tina is shining at work. I think they need to go to Liquid just to shake it off. Its the past. However, Tina will never be comfortable with it until they officially show everyone that Bette has moved on..and up. PPS.

    8. I swear that I love this story more every time I read it. I am getting a kick out of Bette giving James more responsibility and Tina being the big star at work. And after it all they come home to one another (though they haven’t officially decided the home thing yet). :)
