Bette grinned
“Does it come with a note ?”
James handed Bette a small white envelope which Bette tore open and read. A huge smile spread over her face.
“Thank you James “
“May I say something ?”
“Of course “
“I have never seen you as happy as this woman makes you “
Bette blushed
“Thank you “
“Do I get to know her name – just so I can gang up with her against you -for your own good of course “
Bette laughed
“She’s called Tina Kennard – she’s a Studio Executive and we went to Hawaii together “
“That’s your first holiday in the four years I have worked for you “
“Is it -yeah – it probably is “
“I am really happy for you Bette “
Bette smiled again “Thanks James – she’s very special “
James thought she must be amazing if she could make Bette as happy as she obviously was. He decided that Tina was going to get all the help he could give her – the benefits of a happy and cheerful boss was one that had to be protected at all costs
Bette opened her tuna sandwich – Tina had rightly guessed that Bette would work through and skip food and looked again at the note

Just something to keep your energies up for tonight. Henry was so cool about it and I am so much the golden girl its not true ! I hope your day is going well – come over after 7 but before 8 and I will have cooked a meal for us.

Bette picked up the phone and asked James to come in which he did in seconds
“Can you arrange for half a dozen red roses be sent to Tina Kennard at Phoenix Productions ?”
He grinned again
“Yes ?” Bette challenged
“I didn’t say a word “
“Your look said plenty “
“I look forward to meeting her “

Hello Ally, I absolutely love this story… there is just something about how these two relate within your beautiful words that just seems so very real… like I have met them before. I love how Tina reacts to Bette’s past… the green she sees is just so perfect and I would love to see her in a throw down with someone showing the world just who owns Bette’s heart… I can just see how turned on Bette would be after that… “ummm T… yeah we gotta go… there’s a fire that needs your attention… like NOW!!!” hehe… love it. Keep em coming… any chance that you might consider doing a sequel to “Let It Be” I loved that story completely and would love to see you continue with it… and of course I love “Love and Pride” and well ummm “The L Wing” and ummmm… well you get the picture… pleeasssee… :P… Sincerely, JC
Hey AllyE, Agree that this story just gets better adn better. Love how Bette and Tina are just getting to know enough each as their love develops and gets stronger at each turn. Yes, they still have issues; Bette’s jealousy and Tina’s insecureness, but they are trying to work through them. Communication is key here and boy these gals can connect on so many levels, Brilliant and a real joy to read. I ADORE IT! Many, many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
Why is Tina being so afraid? I mean how bad can it be, she will get people hitting on both of them everywhere and if that place was Bette’s territory as she says it is then she can handle whatever might happen there, it will happen no matter how long she push it, so get real Tee. Well, I am glad that Tina is holding out on tell Eric the Ass…I think it’s more fun this way. Also, Tina MUST grow up and know that Bette loves her and that she is going to take care of her at Liquid. She needs more self-confidence.

Love this story. Love that Bette gave James more responsibilities. I love that Tina is shining at work. I think they need to go to Liquid just to shake it off. Its the past. However, Tina will never be comfortable with it until they officially show everyone that Bette has moved on..and up. PPS.

I swear that I love this story more every time I read it. I am getting a kick out of Bette giving James more responsibility and Tina being the big star at work. And after it all they come home to one another (though they haven’t officially decided the home thing yet). :)
