    Chapter 87

    　

    Helena knew Tina well enough to know that there was something bothering her. Ever since she had challenged her and Bette to do the 10k run the texts and good natured insults and jibes had been coming thick and fast. But a week had past since the last text message on the subject of the race – or indeed on any subject. Even though Tina was now sitting opposite her she didn’t feel that the blonde was giving her full attention

    “How long have we known one another Tina ?”

    Tina looked up from her coffee

    “Sorry ?”

    “How long have we known each other ?”

    “Since college – why ?”

    “So you would say that we know each other fairly well “

    “Yes “

    “So forgive me for this if there is nothing wrong but – what the hell is the matter with you Kennard ?”

    “That obvious eh ?”

    “Just a bit – is everything okay with Bette ?”

    “Yes “

    “Yes but ?”

    Tina lent back and sighed “We had a big shock on Friday “

    “One of you is pregnant ?” Helena suggested smiling

    “Not as far as I am aware “ Tina replied smiling “ But it’s a big one “

    “Want to talk ?”

    Tina looked at her friend “ Bette’s mom showed up on our doorstep “

    “What !! No – her mother who — oh my god Tina “

    Tina nodded “ Yeah “

    “I can see why that would distract both of you “

    “To say that it pulled the rug from under both of us is an understatement “

    “Wow – what is she like ? Where the hell has she been all these years and most important – how’s Bette ?”

    Tina appreciated that Helena saw that Bette’s welfare was the most important question

    “Bette was just devastated at first – there were tears and rightly she was angry”

    “And now ?”

    “All parties are calmer but its still taking some getting used to “

    “How long has it been since Bette had any contact with her mother ?”

    “27 years “

    “God – that’s hard to just walk back into someone’s life after 27 years – where the hell had she been for all that time ?”

    5. At first I waited patiently for your next post, but over the last weeks I started getting restless that something had happened for you not to post anymore. You can’t believe how I have missed your posts.

    6. Kit is back in the picture. Elizabeth seems to unsettle Bette…….. I am beginning to have my concerns. I hope Big Bette doesn’t hurt little Bette, or Tina will be ripping Big Bette a new ASS. Great update. I have missed you and your stories. Please don’t go away for so long.

    11. Finally! It was time for Tee to meet Kit. Can’t believe it took you 88 chapters LOL. This woman keeps showing up with new info.. I can understand why Bette feels dizzy and ready to run away from her. Thanks for the updates, and again.. don’t take to much to post :D. (Hey mate, where are the L wings you promised?)

    13. “Hell’s teeth”? Don’t think I ever heard that one before. So Elizabeth is going too fast (how dare she invite Bette and Tina over to meet the rest of the family!), yet new revelations from her are greated with the suspicion that she’s hiding things. I got to say Bette is striking me as a touch paranoid in this (Tina too, after getting all huffy about not being met for the shopping excursion). There’s nothing wrong with Bette talking to Kit, but she really needs to go to the source for her information, namely Elizabeth. And then Melving, that old dick.

    25. It SOOOOOOOOOOO NICE to see that you are back. I can’t and can believe you ended the chapter like that (Drama Queen). I can’t believe B&T have not thought about a D&A test. It would be soooooo easy to get a sample of Elizabeth, being a coffee snob just get it from her cup. It’s GREAT to see Kit in this story. PPS:o).

    26. Hey Ally, Back agian to share the wonder or your writing. Thanks you for returning with your inimitable style and flair for fiction. Bette has been through so much in this drama as her mother returns. This has forced Bette to face so many of her fears; betrayal, abandonment, self-worth. It was good to find out that Tina was so mad yet as soon as she saw her lover, Tina’s tenderness took hold and she comforted her partner. Now meeting Kit is a major step forward in unifying this relationship. Still am impatient to read more so please post soon. Complete gratitude from Your Loyal Fan.
