Chapter 19: A Friend’s Advice
Tina’s apartment, Present Day, Los Angeles, Tina’s POV
I had repeatedly thought about the day Bette left and it still brings tears to my eyes. I feel myself go numb every time. It’s a day I will never forget as long I live. I was sitting in my apartment finishing up some scripts when I heard a knock at the door. I sigh heavily and go to answer it. It was Dana.
“Hey Dane I was hoping you’d drop by” I let Dana in, I really needed to talk and Dana was my number one choice at the best of times
“What’s up” I sit down and Dana sits next to me. I sigh heavily; it was obvious what was up with me. Dana glances down at the floor. She narrows her eyes before looking back up to me
“I’m scared Dane” Dana shakes her head. I didn’t know that Dana had come over to invite me to the gathering at the Planet for Bette
“What do you mean you’re scared” I knew it was time to admit the truth as to way I had been acting weird
“I know about the conversation, I know Bette is coming home” Dana looks like a deer in headlights. I smile
“Oh shit” I shake my head and put my arm around her “I’m so sorry TK we should have told you” I shake my head again
“It’s OK I was happy at first that Bette was coming home but it’s really hit me for six” Dana looks at me and smiles gently before glanced down at my hand again
“I can see that since you’re wearing the eternity ring Bette gave you the evening she umm you know” I nod sadly. I fiddle with the ring in my ring finger before smiling gently
“I’ve never took it off Dane not really” Dana looks at me confusingly and I smile “I’ve kept it on a chain all these years, close to my heart, but I decided it was time that it went back where it belonged” Dana smiles at me and nods. I knew she had come around to my apartment for a reason and I have completely taken her away from her original reason “So why did come around anyway” I saw Dana compose herself by taking a deep breath. She was nervous about something
