Stoners of LA: Richie Rich Rich
First she would meet with Tina. Perhaps would be the day that she might crack the code of the lovely Kennard woman.
Then again, perhaps not. Amelia felt somewhat ambivalent when she sat across from Tina and heard what she had to say.
“I want to try again…” Tina started.
Amelia was quiet, remembering the way she had been dismissed before. “Why?” She asked.
Tina poked at her salad, suddenly incredibly interested in the texture of the limp leaves. She felt absolutely ashamed of her behavior. Yet, somehow she launched into an explanation which opened both their minds to the possibility that maybe it wasn’t doomed afterall. The last three years, her treatment of Bette, of her friends—somehow it all boiled down to a time in her life when she felt weakest, and the resolve never to feel weak again.
“It sounds like Bette and you had a bit of a strange power thing going on.” Amelia was without judgement, just interested.
“Yeah…I guess I talked myself into thinking that it was enough. The security and safety was enough…the knowledge that Bette would always be there…”
“And when she wasn’t, you sorta made sure that you’d never be dependent like that again?” Amelia asked.
Tina thought it over. She looked across the table, searching Amelia’s face for signs of judging or criticism. When she found no such thing, a wave of relief and…something else, she couldn’t figure out…warmed her suddenly. Amelia had the most beautiful eyes Tina had ever seen. She also had the most beautiful hair…
“Tina?”
“yeah…oh, yeah…sorry…I was just admiring…ummm. Yes, well, yes. I decided that I would never need anyone again, I suppose. Hence…well, you saw it. I was completely closed to you, and I want to…I’m trying to be more open.”
Amelia nodded slowly, taking a sip of her coffee. “Ok. Can I think about it? I’m going away tomorrow morning for a week long assignment. I’m staying in a hotel tonite just on the edge of town, with other Bureau members. Can I call you when I get back?”
‘Hotel,’ Tina thought. She felt warm. Very warm. Amelia’s leg was close to hers underneath the table. The brunette smiled sweetly, silently acknowledging the effect she was having on her. “Sure.” Tina finally said.

ur endings are always so ominous…lol…back to watching tin man…good post, hun…pps
Wow Hel, what is going one, Amelia asking both Helena and Bette out? And I find it funny how Helena is soooo stressed out over her now having to run the peabody foundation..Getting good
i wouldn’t say that i want her to be eaten by a tiger, maybe a hippo…just kidding…just want the character to be more decisive…all in or all out…but life has lots of gray and emotions are totally “gray”, so i get tina, she’s just irritating because her gray impacts others…and besides B&H are just totally hot together..where do you get your story plots..this is what creativity is all about…your posts are FANTASTIC…PPS
I’m becoming more and more captivated by Amelia (wish she were a character on TLW), and I look forward to the time when Tina actually deserves her. I don’t blame Helena stressing over the responsibility of managing a multi-billion dollar empire. I hope Peggy has prepared her for the task.
ooh hb, this is nice, all three of them going out to dinner together!! What might they have for dessert?? LOL!! Yeah I kinda faded a bit about you know who, but you never really lose me, I am a fan and friend. Please refresh as to Amelia’s native American ancestry, did I miss something? I heard from funny today, she is well, just busy with school. Can’t wait to hear about this dinner…and the attractions to spark!!!
Yup, I’m alive and reasonably well (damn sinuses, damn pancreas) and EVERYBODY hears from me today. Passed my exams and am into the next term. Can Peggy just up and retire like that? I mean, it didn’t seem like she was lacking for recreation while holding the reins (oooh, does that conjure images!), nor did she seem to have any qualms about wielding power. Anyway, she could at least give Helena a few pointers in coping. But I hope Helena, Bette, and Amelia can help each other relieve their mutual um, er…stress! Yeah, that’s it-stress! And soon. So Tina wants another chance with Amelia? Didn’t she ‘want’ another chance with Bette? Sort of? That woman sure knows how to squander riches. I’m not convinced she should get it. BTW, would you believe central France is roughly at the same latitude?
Central France is at the same latitude as WHAT?? tina?? Where DO you come up with this stuff???
susannah, you’ll just have to accept that I’m being deliberately cryptic.
Soo..first you’re MIA and now you be cryptic eh??
