    Chapter 39      

     

    They ate their dinner in silence both of them deep in their own thoughts, Shane spoke first as she leaned over and placed her hand on top of Tina’s and gave it a gentle squeeze.

     

    “Tina, don’t worry about Bette she’ll come around she loves you, and don’t worry about Jodie she’s delusional, Bette wouldn’t give her the time of day”

    “Shane I wish I could believe you, I know Bette has feelings for me but a part of me doubts she ever really truly got over Jodie, I don’t think Bette ever got the closure she needed with her, and that, together with the fact that Bette won’t open up to me about her, plants seeds of doubt in me, and I’m having a very hard time shaking that sinking feeling in my stomach, that maybe she’ll never be able to open up and let me in and I can’t be with someone  that won’t let me in emotionally” Tina held back tears

     

    Shane gave Tina a hug.

     

    “Don’t worry Tina she may be stubborn as a mule but she’ll come around she has to.”

     

    “Thanks Shane, really thank you, you’re a great friend”

     

    Shane got into her jeep and raced to Bette’s house she was on her 2nd cigarette, upset with herself for being so honest with Tina regarding Jodie, and upset with Bette for not talking to Tina.

     

    ‘What the fuck is wrong with her, why can’t she just be honest with Tina, does she want Tina to walk away?’

     

    ‘Fucken Bette, how can you be so stupid”

     

    Shane parked in front of Bette’s house relieved, to see her car parked in the driveway Shane sat in her Jeep and took a deep breath, she willed herself to calm down she didn’t want to be to confrontational with Bette because Shane knew Bette would just get defensive and shut down.

    Shane knocked on Bette’s door, Bette opened the door wearing a pair of pajama pants and a tank top, phone in her hand.

     

    “Hey, Shane! what a surprise come in”

     

    “You want something to drink, wine, beer, coffee?”

     

    Shane shoved her hands in her pockets and started to pace Bette’s living room.

    6. I started reading this story of yours yesterday and I couldn’t believe that I have been missing out on a wonderful story. Thank you for writing this and just so you know, I have been patiently waiting for an update since yesterday. So to see this new chapter makes me giddy with happiness.

    8. I’m pulling my hair with Bette. In a way she is kind of comparing Jodi and Tina if she is so concerned about Tina leaving her. Tina should buy the house and leave Bette to wither alone LOL. Thanks for the post music.

    12. It astounds me how Jodi and Tina are so different, like night and day, and Bette be so naive and compare them to each other. I understand hurt and pain, we all do, but for crying out loud, give me a f***ing break. If Bette loses Tina it’s no ones fault,but Bette’s. I don’t blame Tina for feeling so insecure when Bette, herself, hasn’t even cleared the air about Jodi. ILMuzic, you can update this story ten times a day, and I would still need my next fix. Please post the next chappy soon. PS, did I mention to you early, WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

    15. this is good stuff. needless to say, i’m waiting for the next chapter already. only thing that keeps coming back to me is that it seems Tina is the really strong one here. Gotto to give it to her because i would have thought tina would be scared shit as well especially since she has now come face to face with Jodie. Think it’s pretty normal if Tina does think Bette is carrying a really strong torch for Jodie because she doesn’t talk and is so hung up about things. Tina was after all the ugly duckling in the beginning of the story. I think i’m going to read the first few chapters again. Great stuff!
