The art of living # 2

    “Bye, Elizabeth…”

“Oh…And …I like to hear my name in your voice, Tina, but you can call me Bette whenever you want…”

    Tina couldn’t work anymore.

    ———————

Thirty minutes later, Tina watched her cell phone rang again. It was Bette. She already knew the number by heart.

    “Hi, Bette! It’s Tina…Sorry; I still couldn’t find my agenda…”

“No…No…Don’t worry…I just wanted to hear how you would answer the cell phone, knowing it was me… into the informal mode…I…I couldn´t wait too long too experience…”

This woman knew how to made Tina’s heart beat faster. “And how about it? What could you tell from my voice?”

    “Hmmm…I wouldn’t dare to say happy…”

“But you dare to think it, hn?” Tina interrupted playfully.

“No, I would LIKE to think… Maybe …to hope…I am not that egomaniac…”

“No… You’re overwhelming. Not egomaniac…” Tina couldn’t let the words fall into emptiness. A rush of blood collided with her face, but she couldn’t stop right there. She needed to know more. “What else you can tell from my voice?” Tina shot. Both began carelessly paint words with red.

Bette was dissolving in the end of the line. “Well, amicable…Receptive. Maybe… warm…”It was time to Bette blush lightly. And she didn’t even hear Tina’s answer till that moment.

    “Hmmm…You are partly right.”

    Bette got serious. “Partly, hn?”

“Yes. I am happy that you called again. Very happy. I can say cheerful!” Tina paused. “Amicable is not the word to define my tone with you. No…I sense… Loving is better. And I am not this receptive with everyone, Bette… I can tell you that!” She let the smile fluid over the phone. “And I could never be warm with you…I guess I can be enthusiastic, excited.”

She was challenging herself with words. Tina wasn’t a bold woman, only in business, not into relationships. She didn’t care about relationships. But she couldn’t help herself with Bette.

“Don’t get me wrong, Christina.” Her name pronounced by Bette reverberated inside her ears. “I am myself hotter than temperate.”

Oh, darling I can see that…I can see it! Tina could control her mouth this time, but not her thoughts.

Bette didn’t stop her explanation full of gasoline to keep the fire burning.“I mean warm as ardent, Tina.” Bette’s tone was bold.” You’re not a moderate… a mild woman. I can see powerful winds and sunny blued days…You have passion.” She gave herself seconds. “And if you nominate your feelings as enthusiastic and excited… Than…i am… happy…"

Tina’s smile infected Bette over the phone. It was mutual. They finally heard it. They had to hear, because they denied their eyes and other senses.

     “Well, I wouldn’t bother you anymore… Sorry, T.”

“Please…feel free to call me whatever, whenever you want. I can assure you I would be always intemperate with you.”

“Oh…Ok…But you will the one to call me back. To give me some answer…”

    “I will…”

    “See ya…”

    “I hope soon…”

Tina couldn’t believe she was openly flirting with Bette over the phone.

Bette loved the way Tina was seductive. For what she could see, Tina was a woman with no prejudice and Bette began to think that maybe, everything could be different.

    ————————–

But it wasn’t and Tina couldn’t be at their pizza night. But worse than that. She called at the afternoon to warn of her impossibility of leaving the office.

    “I have an urgent meeting…Sorry, Bette…”

    “Oh…Ok…”

“I am very sorry…I would love to be there with you and Mimi, but…”

    “I know… You have work to do…”

    “Yes…”

“Maybe other day?” Tina was afraid from the answer.

    “Maybe… Maybe…Sure…”

When they hang up. Tina called her secretary, Cassidy.

“Please, Cass, send a beautiful bouquet to this address, to Bette Porter and please, buy a child book and send it together to Domina Porter.”

    “Ok, Tina,…Something else?”

“Which me luck, dear…” Tina knew this would complicate the relationship she was trying to forge.

    ——————-

    Bette decided not to call.

Alice and Shane knew something was wrong and they understood Bette’s worries about the “workaholic factor” when Tina missed the pizza night. They tried to offer some help, but they knew that with some issues, the brunette was inflexible, mainly when they heard Domina words:

“Why she couldn’t make it, mom?”

    “Tina had to work, darling…”

“Oh… She works a lot, hn?”

“Yes, darling. She works a lot.”

    1. well tina needs to take a break… and hopefully she will soon… love this little story you have here… and i have a feeling tina is going to find a case of that juice for the next pizza night… PPS

    2. I love this story and the way it is going. But Tina has to start finding time to spend with Bette and Mimi and she had better find that juice that Mimi likes so well. And she needs to do it herself or at least take it to them herself and not send it by someone. She also needs to find out the name of the book that her secretary bought for Mimi and read it herself so she can talk to Mimi about it. Something she did not do was tell her secretary what an extraordinary little girl Mimi is and how intelligent she is because those things would show up in the choice or selection of book that Tina chose for Mimi. She will have to remember this for the next time. Love the story. PPS

    3. Well maybe tina will realise she needs to slow things down a bit especially if she wants to be a part of bette and mini’s life… let her find some of that juice! :)PPS

    4. Tina? Have you either heard the word “break”? come on Tina go buy the presents yourself.girl. Tina will have to make time for Mmi and Bette if she is seriously thinking “relationship” with this lovely famiy.Love the story, can we have it a bit longer lol.PPS

    5. Great ChapterTina should have made time to go to Bette’s pizza night, and now she HAS to go and find that juice and give it to Mimi as an apology for missing the pizza night.and Tina needs to cut down the work.PPS

    6. I can’t believe Tina didn’t make Pizza night. I don’t know if Tina’s flowers and Mimi’s book will influence Bette to give Tina another chance, especially when Bette sees her child already being disappointed by Tina. Ms. Kennard better get her priorities together and fast! She needs to hire a couple of very trustworthy assistants to sit in meetings and ‘babysit’ those spoiled movie stars. Can’t wait for the next chapter Braz!

    7. Braz, this is a very good story, love how you have Tina as a workaholic and Bette scared to have her get close to Tina and not accept or know how to be around her daughter. I enjoyed this chapter Braz,,,

    8. Fantastic chapter, Braz…I really loved the searching for words both of the ladies were doing… trying to find the right way to move their connection forward. I can’t believe Tina missed pizza night though…the woman needs to seriously take a break. She needs to come up with a better way to make it up to both of them – flowers and a book are a way to apologize but it lacks a personal touch. She needs to set up a date – and schedule that in her daily agenda! PPS!

    9. I think Bette should give Tina another chance I’m sure her schedule was already set for the week if she is trying to get to know Bette and MImi she will willingly shift some things around to have a little wiggle room. PPS

    10. Hi, Braz! *waving with enthusiasm* We’re here, again! Yep. Better times are coming, dear friend. We hope. As for the story, you bet it’s totally straight forward, but watching B & T’s interaction is fantastic! Mutual flirting, sensual words exchanging and lots of sparkles pointing to different directions. It’s like a carnival of emotions, sweetie. All of them, flowing in the air. Hmmm That is sensational! Bette will have to make a plan to get Tina out of that workaholic environment and force her to reconsider her private life, too. Some Porter’s charm, perhaps could work. *wink, wink* This story is very exciting and full of bright and colors, Braz. PPS Big hugs and tender kisses on both your cheeks. – Lucero & Marsha (Latin JC’s Salsa Aunties)
