Tina’s apartment.

Tina hung up the phone and looked at Josie with a flabberghasted stare.

“What! What did she say Tina?”

Tina didn’t answer, instead she rubbed her temples that were now throbbing.

“Teeeena yoohoo! I’m still here, what did she say?”

“She said that she found my earring. She wants to give it back to me so she invited me out to a club tonight.” Tina replied still staring blankly and obviously in deep thought.

“She what? A club? Tonight? Wow she moves fast. Just met you last night and already asking you out on a date. You better watch out!”

“A date? Josie, she didn’t ask me on a date. She invited me to a club. She’s bringing her gorgeous “friend” along with her. I don’t know about this. I think I’m going to call her back and cancel. What was I thinking anyways? I have enough drama in my life right now. I don’t need to add Bette to that.”

“Whoaslow down Kennard. First of all what makes you think she is bringing her “Friend?”

“I asked her if her friend would be there and she said of course. See this ISN’T a date.”

“Well, I think you should know that since I was in the room I listened to your conversation.”

“Hey!”

“Don’t hey me I know how you get when you get flustered and you forget details. You asked her if her “FRIENDS” plural, would be there. And Tinaeven if she was there with her “friend”, you’re some tough competition. Tina you’re hot. I don’t think you know that, or have ever known for that matter. I think that is what draws people to you.”

“That’s very sweet, Josie. Nice of you to say. But really Joe, what am I going to do at a night club? I won’t even know how to act.”

“Geez Tina, do I have to teach you everything? Listenyou don’t need to act, just be yourself. You love to dance, so dance and don’t worry about whether anyone is watching or not. You’ve never been shy about that, you do it and you do it well. If you’re lucky someone will be watching. And you need to find out if that someone feels the same way for you as you do for her. Tina goand have fun for once in your life. Don’t think or worry about Eric or your mother. Think about Tina. Figure out what YOU want. The world is an open door right now. You have it at your footstep.”
