The Gathering 01.39 – How Do We Deal? Pt 3 – Ache

“Cuz you are.”  Jayden piped in coming in from outside.  Jayden was on barbecue duty, grilling chicken
for those who didn’t want spaghetti and
    Lara
    was making a salad.

                “Sacre
    Bleu
    .”
Muttered Sam wiping her hand on her shirt
hearing Tina laughing outside like a loon
    possessed.  Bette
was recounting tales of their relationship.
Leaving out the bad parts and leaving in the good times.

                “How is her
    memory?”
    Lara
asked grabbing a tomato and a different knife and slowly slicing it Jayden
watched with a soft smile.  Lara‘s
deft hands meticulously sliced the tomato into various pieces and then slid
    them into the bowl.

                “Getting there Bette
said that she kissed her the other day.
It’s like Bette courting her all over
again.  Really sweet but its slow
    going.  Tina
still has it in her head somewhere that she’s straight.  It must have taken her a while the first time
around to admit she was in love with Bette.”  Sam admitted
having sat down and talked to Tina a few
times.  It had been awkward at first, but
Tina had even asked her to attend a session with
    Marty last week.  Sam
had gone and had found that her memories were coming back to her, but in slow
    bits.

                “You want something to
    drink hon?”  Jayden asked
    LaraSam
looked at Lara with the astonish look of someone
who’d just been slammed in the chest.
When she was out of ear shot, LaraSam and said. looked
    at
and she nodded Jayden headed to the bar and said.

                “I don’t know.”  Lara
    said shrugging her shoulders.

                “You do know she’s
    crushing on you?”
    Sam
exclaimed checking on the garlic bread in the oven.  She cracked her knuckles and Lara
    scoffed.

                “I gleamed that much
from her.  She’s confused hanging out
with the lesbians is messing with her mind.”
    Sam rolled her grey eyes
and took off her hat, hitting Lara behind the
head with it and replacing it on her own.

                “You are such a dumb
    *****.  She’s falling for you.  I’ve seen it before…”
    Sam
said with a lofty voice.  Eyes looking at
    the ceiling and chuckling softly.

“Oh yeah?  In the mirror?”  Lara
said in a goofy voice; eluding to she and Shane.

                “With her
    sister.”
    SamShane.  Leaving Lara
with that food for thought and a blank look on Lara‘s
    face.
walked away and went to find

    1. I agree that Tina’s not the Tina anymore. I think Bette’s too naive at the moment. Maybe she should try to move on and find her own happiness. I can’t see she and Tina make any progress here. Tina’s kind of lying to her or hiding her own feelings. It’s unfair to Bette.

    2. I think Tina is gonna make a move on Sam in New York. Just because she doesn’t remember her true love for Bette. I’m actually curious as how Sam will react on that. The kinda coming out of Jayden-scene in the pool was hilarious to say the least LOL. onto the next chapter hehehe
