The Gathering 01.70 – Days of Future Past pt. 3
“Now you have too, run down stairs and find something for her Justin. I think something along the same color…” Sam threw herself on the bed and was going to go insane. She covered her head with a pillow and screamed.
*****
Shane sat in her room, she wasn’t dressed yet. She was worrying a nail on her left hand, picking and chewing on the nail and skin around it. She was wearing a blue bathrobe; there was a soft knock on the door.
“Enter.” In walked Tina and Bette; and Tina looked at her in shock. She wasn’t dressed, and her hair was slicked back from her face, she’d let it dry like that when she’d gotten out of the shower.
“Shane! Get dressed, the ceremony is in two hours, let’s go!” Tina said, finding the casual clothes that Sam had insisted on, Sam had made Dana promise to wear cowboy boots for goodness sakes.
“I don’t know if I can do this….” Shane said softly, her face sad and Bette cast a long glance at Tina. Oh, oh, Sam’s Romeo was having second thoughts, this wasn’t good.
“Shane, baby why not?” Tina asked wondering what was going through Shane’s mind right now. She’d been quiet on the flight over but had been herself last night at the pre wedding party last night. What had happened between the party and then the flight?
“I don’t deserve her. I mean I’ve done so many things wrong in this relationship and she’s forgiven me at every turn. Why? Because she loves me, that’s why. I’m not worthy of that sort of devotion.” Shane waxed on and Bette scoffed at the very idea.
“All the more reason to go through with this Shane. Grab her, and make sure she doesn’t get away.” Bette said softly seeing Tina’s face on the edge of her vision. How they’d all suffered in the last few months.
“I had this awful dream last night…” Shane started, and Bette sat down with Tina on the edge of the bed, waiting and listening. “You met Sam first.” Shane said, pointing to Tina and she gasped, “Bette stayed with Candace and were ***** again, and Dana didn’t fall for Alice, she went back to Lara. Instead Alice had this thing with Jayden. I was alone, until I slept with Bette and Jayden.” Now it was Bette’s turn to gasp, and Shane had to grin a bit at her expression. “Oh yeah, it was a long dream; then Sam broke it off with Tina and we hooked up. Then at the Planet instead of all of us getting hurt, there was only Sam. She died, it was a premonition, wasn’t it?” Tina saw what she was thinking, and she saw the devastation in Shane’s eyes.

the dream was a great way to tie both stories together. I am happy to read that Shane and Sam finally made it down the aisle.
Can I just say that it is an honor to be mentioned in the same breathe as Seahurst? She is so wonderfully talented. She is a true blue Tibetter. Thanks for making my dream come true J! J, I knew you were a Dallas fan~LOL! Aside from the parts that made be want to make Tina, Bette and you my sparring partners (For future reference, I’ve got a quick left), on some level, I actually felt the Redux was a bit more in tune with the characters. The original was drama central, there are so many things waiting to explode. Tina and Sam~gag~, when Bette finds out it was Sam…Now we are back here again…Tibetter alert~she’s gonna make it hurt. She keeps trying to comfort us with a sly smile, but the wicked grin is never far behind…Oh no, Sam’s ogling Tina on her wedding day! Oh, boy where are we going now?

Man, you had me worried. Thanks for this chapter. So sweet… I’m not ready to kill you yet, but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. I sense impending drama! Oh my!
A damn dream, should’ve known. Absolutely loved Shane’s reaction after her nightmarish ordeal. Hell I’d freak too. Their vows were beautiful. Alice’s gift was true to form. I do hope Tina has put her crush on Sam on the back burner. Who the HELL is the uninvited guest? Is it Shane’s mom? or Cherie? Inquiring minds wanna know?
Ha ha~ A horrible dream… I’ve actually needed to read the part of Sam/Shane’s wedding so badly but ReDux version was just great. Now I am waiting for a mysterious woman’s trouble.
