“Ok first of all” Tina took a deep breath “Hi, I missed you” she said softly
Bette sighed and slumped her shoulders “Tina I missed you too, but I didn’t expect to come home to, what the fuck have I come home too”
Tina filled Bette in on the details of the accident and what she had learned of Shane’s background since, which included missing parents, foster home after foster home, a lot of running, in a nutshell an extreme lack of love or stability.
“Bette she has nobody that gives a rats ass about her” Tina sighed Bette had offered little in her response to Tina’s tale of woe “Bette I really want to do this, running over Shane has helped me realize how fucking lucky I am to have you and all that you give me, we live in our ivory tower and take so much of what we have together for granted not giving a second thought to those who have nobody, she’s 15 and she can’t even remember the last time she spent a day at school, how fucked up is that”
“Pretty much” Was all Bette said, fuck she thought once Tina got something into that pretty little head of hers she had yet to find an effective method to get it out, however this was some heavy shit, could they actually help this girl, god only know what she has gone through.
“Bette” Tina prodded impatiently she desperately wanted Bette to be on board with this.
“Just give me a minute Tee” Bette replied
“Can I hold you while you process ” Tina smiled, Bette sighed and smiled back “There are 2 things I need right now and that marginally tops a bucket load of alcohol”
A little while later Bette and Tina went back to the lounge,
“So do I get my room back” Alice quizzed
“No Shane’s staying” Tina replied grinning from ear to ear “Where is she”
“Still in my room and I hate to burst your happy family bubble, but your unmarried, your a pair of fully fledged lesbo’s, your British, come on ladies get real the state wouldn’t give you a dog license” Alice pointed out sarcastically
Tina mockingly brought her hand over her mouth and looked to Bette “Your a lesbian”
“Who me, noooo, are you” Bette responded
“If by lesbian you mean am I sexually attracted too women” Tina looked Alice up and down, shivered “Hell no”
Bette laughed and copied Tina’s actions while looking at Helena “Ditto”
Helena attempted to mask the fact that she was crushed by immediately heading towards the kitchen “Anyone for tea” she asked
Alice got up “I’ll join you, these two just crack me up and a girl can only laugh so much, but tea really don’t you have to be like 50 to drink that”
“Come here you” Bette motioned for Tina to join her “You know as much as I hate to admit it she has a point”
Tina sighed as she relaxed in Bette’s arms they certainly had a battle on their hands “We shall fight on the beaches” She said her voice laced with determination
“We shall fight on the landing grounds” Bette added
“We shall fight in the fields and in the streets” Tina continued
“We shall fight in the, erm” Bette pauses was it trenches or hills, she couldn’t quite remember.
“Hills” Tina offered
“We shall never surrender” They said together
They both laughed, then suddenly Tina took on a more serious tone
“Bette”
“Yeah”
“I love you”
Bette smiled and kissed the top of her head “Ditto”
“but we really need to talk about the house rules of no sex when we have guests”
Bette considered this for about a nano second, going without until Shane left for college was simply not an option “You know what they say about rules Tina”
“There made to be broken”
“Only on one condition you have to ease up on the screaming”
Tina’s voice raised a couple of octaves in her defence “What, I am not a screamer”
“Oh you are so a screamer”
“I’m with Bette on that one Tina” Alice shouted from the kitchen
“Fuck, babe how much do you think it would cost to sound proof our bedroom”

Darn it, stupid computer. As I was saying, I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE GIVING TINA A BRAIN TUMOUR, WOMAN!!!! That’s just all sorts of cruel. Especially remembering all this when she might not remember it in a few days. So sad… Don’t make me cross the Atlantic to kick your butt for being mean to them!
