    The Incredible True Adventure of Helena and the Personality-Altering Device

    "Helena, we are very disappointed. You know failure is not an option. What do you propose to do about this little situation?"

    Helena looked up to the man with the black mask. She forced the uncertainty out of her body and confidently said:

    "This is just a minor set-back. I will fix it. Has there ever been a time when I did not complete my mission?"

    "There is a first time for everything. You know we cannot afford to mess up this time. We have been working towards this day for over twelve centuries. The ancestors would turn in their graves if they knew about this. Now, I expect you to report back to me in 2 hours, which is how much time I will give you to make sure that woman is taken care of. I don’t think it will be necessary for me to inform you what the consequences of your failure would be, now, would it?"

    Helena‘s jaw tightened. "No, Great One, it won’t be."

    "You are dismissed. 2 hours, Helena, not a minute longer…"

    Helena walked back to her car, quietly swearing. How could she have failed such an important task?

    "Bette Porter, that’s why," she mumbled.

    Both the agency and Helena had underestimated the brunette. The ancestors had made no mention of the involvement of another woman. Then again, they would probably turn in their grave if they knew. The patriarchal power that had been had never responded well to the involvement of women in the agency let alone women being the key players in this foretold battle between good and evil. The battle of all battles… and Helena Peabody had failed to get the mother of The Child on their side. The Child whose alliance would, as the ancient prophecies had predicted, be decisive for the outcome of the greatest battle of all times.

    Helena parked her Aston Martin – yes, the dark side was certainly sweet; they had hot cars, killer wardrobes and chocolate… how could anyone resist such temptations? – a few blocks from that wretched home. When she got out, she immediately vanished into the dark and was nearly invisible in her black cat suit. She stationed herself behind her usual shrub from where she could see right through the window.

    7. Absolutely genius! Helena in a catsuit is a great image! Dark forces almost defeated by RomComs – fantastic! Loved the dig at monkey man in the white house, Alice bitchslapping Hellno, overreacting to constructive criticism and finally Ilene Chaiken being used for ridiculously out of character changes. Just marvellous. Brought a huge grin to my face – and boy did I need it! Thanks for your wondeful take on this challenge. Don’t forget about your other writing though!

    17. I was not going to read this because it was about Helena but I used my heart and read it. Plus I like you other story too much to skip your writings. Those damn dark people. They have gone and f***ed with our Tina. But with you abilities to turn Helena to the good side please go out and plant that huge seed of love back into Tina’s heart. You know the one, the one with Bette’s name painted all over it. Have that seed grow very quickly (like with Helena) so that we could have our couple back. But I fear that the dark side is working against Bette with MM showing up and planting her seed into Bette’s heart. Who will win out MM or Tina? Please let it be Tina and the love child!!!!
