“Someone’s trying to kill you?” Tina’s eyes shoot towards the brunette.

“No. I think they’re trying to kill you.”

“Why would someone want to kill me?”

“Why would they want to kill me?”

“Because you’re a…you’re a…you’re a pirate!”

“I’m a pilot. Not a pirate.” Bette defends. She’s more worried about lingering too long than she is about sparring with the beautiful blonde. She makes her way to the cargo area and picks up her backpack, stuffing the device, a few bottles of water and other essentials inside. She grabs an extra pair of boots and her machete hanging on the side of the plane. She takes a last look around before giving Tina her full attention.

“Do you have any long pants or comfortable shorts? You should wear a long sleeve shirt as well, something thin but durable. It’s hotter than hell outside.” Bette stuffs the dirty boots in Tina’s lap.

“Yeah, I think so.” Tina says sharply, throwing the boots back at Bette.

Bette chuckles at the feisty blonde. She points to the tall green mountains with her eyes. Tina looks out the cockpit window. The mountains are majestic. The landscape is rich with thin towering trees and luscious plant life. She can see the thick grass waving in the breeze. The sight is so beautiful it makes Tina smile until she remembers they will be traversing that untouched terrain. She can barely see past the tree line. She frowns realizing the need for those filthy, stinking boots. It looks like a long and treacherous hike. One, she really doesn’t want to take but the alternative could be fatal. She drops her shoulders in defeat, getting up to search for her luggage.

“You need to get out so I can change.” Tina tries to open the suitcase, her hands slightly shaking.

Bette lowers herself, bending on one knee. She smiles at Tina, pulling the raggedy cap off her head. She looks deeply into her hazel eyes and runs her fingers thru the silky blonde hair. The electricity running through her created by the simple touch is sizzling but she pushes away all of her growing feelings for the sexy executive. She knows Tina is scared. So is she, if she were to admit as much. But she needs to be strong. She needs to be brave to get them through the next two days. She has no idea what they might be facing but she swears to herself, she won’t let anything happen Tina.
