    the L saga: Episode Thirty-Three

Bette got up. “I’m sorry that I made your life miserable.”

“You didn’t make my life miserable Bette—it was just the things that you would do made me upset with you.”

“Why didn’t you say anything to me before?”

“I have, but like I said I never get a word in because you’re blowing me off with another subject.” Tina exhaled. “I didn’t want to do this with you, but somehow we always fight. I’ve made up my mind, and I don’t have to explain myself anymore. We’re done for a while. I’ve packed a few of my things, and I’m staying at Helena’s beach house.”

    “Helena’s? You’re staying with Helena?”

“You have a problem with it.”

    “Just a little bit, yes.”

“Well you don’t have a say in anything at this point.” Tina looked at Bette and walked towards the bedroom. Bette followed her to the room and stopped in the doorway.

    “You’re making a mistake Tina.”

Tina turned around. “Oh I’m making a mistake?”

    “Yes you are.”

“I’m done talking to you Bette. I’m leaving,” Tina grabbed her two bags off the bed, and Bette watched as she grabbed them.

“You were being serious,” Bette giggled and shook her head. “You really want to leave me.”

“I don’t want to leave you Bette, but this is my choice of what I want to do. I’m sorry.” Tina walked past Bette and walked towards the door. She dropped her bag and opened the door. She picked up her bag and began to walk out the door.

“Tina,” Tina looked back and saw Bette standing there. “I don’t want you to leave.” Tina walked out of the house and walked down the steps. Bette put her hand on her head and felt herself getting weak. She began to cry and dropped to her knees. Tina put her stuff in her car and got in.
