“It’s not a problem. We’re friends, and it’s the least I can do.” She sat back down at the table. She grabbed her cup and sighed. “How did Bette take it?”

Tina rubbed the back of her neck. “It didn’t go the way I planned it. We ended up arguing again and that was it. I had to get out of there. I didn’t want to be in that house any longer. I feel bad for leaving her like that, but it was my choice. This was the right thing to do.”

“I can’t wait until tomorrow. Our trip is finally here.” Alice looked down at Dana as she straddled her lap in bed. “We really need this vacation.”

“I’m just happy that I get to spend it with you again.” Alice smiled softly as Dana reached up and caressed her cheek.

“Who’s all going?”  Dana shrugged.

“As of now, it’s me, you, Tina, Helena, Sonja, Jenny, Diem and that’s it. Bette can’t go because of work.”

“I got a call from Carmen, and she said that she was still coming.”

“What about Shane and Papi?”

Alice shook her head. “Papi—why would she want to go, and Shane might not because of Shay.”

“Mmmm,” Dana looked at Alice. “You think Kit would watch him.”

“Dana!”

“What? It was just a thought. Besides I don’t think Kit would have a problem with it. She’s the motherly type.”

“Is that how you think about Kit?”

“No, but like I said—it’s just a thought.” Alice chuckled softly.

“What am I going to do with you?” She leaned down and kissed Dana softly. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” Dana grabbed Alice by her waist and flipped them over. Alice shrieked and held onto Dana. She wrapped her legs around her and laid back into the pillow.

“Are you going to the doctor’s when we come back?”

Dana shook her head. “Why?”

“I don’t know—for a daily routine of a check up.”

“Al—you’re kind of ruining the mood right now.”
