Tina looked at the love she could see coming from her partner and nodded. Tina took great care in getting ready. Her stomach was only obviously growing if you looked at her bare belly. She could still fit into all her clothes and looked good.
She decided on smart black cords, a tan coloured collar-less shirt and black boots. She was just standing in front of the mirror fixing her earrings when Bette came and stood beside her. Tina glanced at her and smiled.
In loose fitting black ski-pants and a long black shirt she looked as radiant as pregnant women were all rumoured to be.
“I was wondering something “
“Yes babe “
Bette opened her hand to reveal the simple, silver wedding band that she had worn round her neck since their marriage had ended.
“Purely to ward off your suitors – would you consider wearing yours tonight and I’ll wear this ?”
Tina took hold of Bette’s ring and with great care she slipped it onto Bette’s ring finger. It was a tight squeeze but it went on.
“And if by chance Bette that ring does not come off again because of your condition ? “ she asked smiling.
“Yes ? “
“I would be thrilled and honoured “
Tina went and retrieved her ring from her jewellery box and handed it to Bette . She slipped it onto Tina’s finger – they both had tears in their eyes. When they had married they had placed the rings on each others fingers in the same order and that day was suddenly brought back to both of them.
“I belong to you and you alone Tina “ Bette whispered.
“Oh honey — you know that I have only loved you – regardless of anything that happens tonight – my whole soul is only in tune with one other — yours “
They kissed again – both sensing the need and hunger in the other. Bette knew that Tina was anxious and she wanted to make things as painless as possible for her partner.

This story is great, but you can’t leave it there, god I was waiting to see what Bette had on her mind. Your being very cruel leaving it there. The heatwave in sunny England must be getting to you. Just wait for tommorrow it gets hotter hopefully like your story. Please post soon.
I tell you Bette’s a saint for letting Tina back in her life under these circumstances. You’re one hell of a writer.

Sounds like it would be a shot in the dark for Paul to be the father, which is just as well since he seems like a bit of a wanker.
Definately needed that after the day I’ve had! Another great chapter in the epic life of B&T, god I love Bette Porter…
Gee, Ally, I just checked your weather for the day, sounds pretty pleasant to me. None the less, I’m glad you stayed in and wrote. And I’m glad that things look promising for the health of Tina and her baby. Also glad that when she went trawling for men, she wasn’t quite so desperate as to go for a bottom-feeder (well, other than Henry). So we know why Tina slept with the men, but what excuse did these deeply committed, highly honorable (would-be) family men have for sleeping with her?
I agreed with Bette frustration in the beginning wanting answers to all imagined questions about Tina and these two men, but I LOVED the conclusion that she arrived at “she would never let Tina get so lost again”. Sometimes the end IS more important than the means to get there :o).

Great chapter AllyE, loved it. Sure hope Andrew is the father, good man and it appears that Paul is shooting blanks, so I don’t think we will have to worry about him. Love those girls. Helena is turning out to be some great friend to them both. Wonderful.

I’m not sure one of these guys wasn’t onto what this dinner was all about. Very well written – patiently pacing the room for the next post.
The only thing I walked away from this dinner feeling is that Paul may be shooting blanks with his girlfriend; maybe there’s a chance that one of his blanks may have found its mark in Tina. Other than pleasant conversation and a lot of baby talk, I don’t see what they profoundly learned.
I just went back and reread the story, and I actually found it kind of creepy that these men would sit there and chat so easily…as funnyone said, both have partners which they have cheated on,and seem to have no problem with at all and the consequence of a child, and they are all talking about sperm donors and whatever? If Paul thought that Tina took advantage of Bette’s traveling to sleep around,what’s Paul’s reason? I also would have a really big problem with this if I were Bette.
This was another wonderful chapter and I hope Bette will realize that the answers to all those questions is better left alone. She would only be hurting herself and Tina if she asked those questions. Please don’t make us wait to long to find out what Bette says to Tina.
My heart is breaking for Tina. I know that she screwed everything up by sleeping with these two men, but my heart still goes out to her. I kind of wondered why they led the guys to believe that Tina was sleeping around on Bette. Yeah Tina was sleeping around but not on Bette but on Henry. I am hoping that the baby is healthy and that Tina does find some piece of mind. Bette already loves her and is willing to stand with her through out this entire ordeal.
great update Ally….I guess the baby will look a bit like one or the other of the men, cuz Paul’s girlfriend/wife might be the one unableto get pregnant, most people get onto the ‘fertility tests’ pretty quickly…I’m keep them both out of the picture…but I guess they’ll put one and one togther when she shows or the news comes out, hope they don’t present future problems…betta get T and B to London asap…great you in the northern hemisphere have heat, we in the south have cold…take care…more soon please

Great chapter, Ally. It certainly was a weird conversation. Seems like the father is Andrew. I think its best Bette forget about trying to find the answers to her questions and move on … ^_^
Awesome chapter, I bet neither one of them wants to know if they will be a father to Tina’s child, but then again if it is the one who is tryng to have a baby with his girlfriend, that might be some drama in the future they might want to lay claim to the baby like Marcus’ girlfriend in season 1. Please post soon.
Good chapter. First I don’t think Paul answer he taka a test or not. Ok its seem Andrew is a father here, and Bette and Tina need to talk and can’t wait to see whats next, thanks!
