“Guys, can we please just leave it?” asked Shane in one last attempt at salvaging her dignity.

“Speak of the devil,” grinned Alice as Becca walked into the planet with Eve.

“Why don’t you go… you know, talk to her” smirked a rather smug Bette Porter.

“Because I don’t know her, and…” Shane shook her head as her gaze flickered between her friends

“And I don’t want too”

“Sure Shane” doubted Bette as she picked up her bag and began looking through her wallet.

Tina was actually dying, she couldn’t help it, her hair, her eyes, and her mouth, and everything- Tina just could not keep her eyes away from the brunette beauty. She had almost forgotten how alluring youth is- that brief moment where everything comes together so perfectly. In fact rather than contributing to the development meeting or squabbling over figures this film executive had spent the better part of the meeting trying to assess if Alex was wearing a bra or not, she was near coming to a conclusive decision when Marty pulled her from her trance

“Tina?”

“Yes” she murmured, like a sleeper unexpectedly awoken.

The scene caused a slight smile to stir on Lex’s lips.

“Who are you thinking for Peta?”

Tina stretched out her arms and tried to clear her thoughts, so as not to reply no bra, rather than with an appropriate actress for this crucial though minor part

“Actually I was hoping we might get lucky with an unknown, I can’t think of anyone with a definitive public persona that could be melded into Peta”

Alex smiled knowingly, it was such a bullshit response, but Marty wasn’t bothered enough to pressure Tina into admitting it.

“No time for cattle calls” was all he said, before returning her attention to Alex who briefly made eye contact with Tina before resuming their conversation

“Marty, I’m not stuck on a name- if you bring me someone who has the power and the vulnerability of Peta I’m more than happy to give her a go, but I don’t think there’s any point in rushing through with someone who is going to ultimately be a weak link and cost the story it’s punch” smoothed Alex.
