    Author Notes:

    Tina is caught, Shane makes her move, Bette’s getting honest, Alice is her lovely neurotic self. Jenny is thankfully absent.

     

    Tina was in awe. Fuck Alice. Fuck Eve. No, fuck Alice for being right- oh and fuck Bette just for the sake of it.

     

    Marty leaned back in his chair and fell into thoughts not dissimilar from Tina’s.

    “Take a lunch break and I’ll pull some files from my office”

     

    Alex and Tina nodded as they got up from their chairs and the three of them filed out into the corridor.

     

    “Say 45?” asked Marty, though both women knew it was a statement and he was gone before they even had a chance to refuse.

     

    As they turned around and headed for the fresh air Lex caught herself enjoying a smirk

    “So what were you thinking about?”

     

    Tina smiled self-consciously and Lex guessed, though wasn’t likely to push it.

     

    “Oh nothing, just a bunch of stuff- Angelica and all the crazy things parents think about I guess,” explained an uncomfortable Tina.

    “Have you and Eve thought about kids?”

     

    Lex couldn’t help but throw her head back with a laugh

    “I’m 23 years old, Tina”

     

    “You’re 23? Wow. You’ve done a lot,” said Tina earnestly

     

    “Well I managed to get into the whole theatre thing through uni and after that, I had some helpful contacts and everything came together really well”

     

    Tina was lost in this woman, every gesture was so effortlessly sublime that it seemed rehearsed- but her character contradicted such self-indulgence.

     

    “You’re lucky”

     

    “Yes I have been”

     

    “And Eve seems great”

     

    “Well she is, she’s everything I’m not,” shrugged Lex

    “There’s just this clarity of conviction in her that’s completely selfless and she genuinely cares for people with her whole heart. I was lucky enough to trick her into caring for me”

     

    “I’m sure that’s not true”

     

    “Oh well, we’ll never know”

     

    “No, I’m sure she knows how lucky she is”

     

    Lex raised a brow quietly to herself with a slight smirk; she couldn’t help but enjoy the flattery on some level. Tina meanwhile was having great difficulty controlling herself, she knew that she was getting awfully close to some line that she shouldn’t cross, but she was so desperate to make an emotional contact with Alex that her mouth was moving independently of her better judgement.
