The Therapist/Writer and The Tennis Player Chap. 2

Alice spotted Dana at the second tennis court and walked over. She watched as Dana hit the tennis balls coming from the machine. She noted how Dana held the racket and which way she swung it. What am I doing? I dont know the first thing about tennis.

Dana saw Alice, walked over to the other side of the court, where the machine was and turned it off. Dana ran back to where Alice was. Hi.

    Hey, youre pretty good.

Yeah, that was just a warm-up. Dana smirked when she saw the shocked expression on Alice face.

Alice held up the bag that was in her hands. Well then, Im glad I brought these.

Whats in the bag, Dana asked while trying to look in the bag.

The extra padding you told me to bring, Alice answered as she opened the bag to reveal knee pads and elbow pads.

    Nuh uh.

Yep. I figured, hey shes a tennis pro, she must know what shes talking about, so I brought them.

I didnt actually think youd bring them. Wow. Dana turned around and walked back to the court. She turned around and asked Alice, You ready?

Um, can we eat first because I havent eaten yet and when I dont eat I my blood sugar gets real low. That was half the truth, Alice hadnt eaten anything yet, but her blood sugar remained the same, she was just looking for any way to stall being humiliated in front of all these people. Especially Dana.

Dana wasnt fooled, but she played along. Sure. Dana and Alice sat down at the table in front of the court across from each other. A waiter came to take there order. Alice ordered a ham sandwich and Dana ordered a glass of water. Dana watched Alice look around. You dont look like you really want to play tennis.

    Huh? Oh, I do.

Do you even how to play tennis?

Alice smiled, If I did, then you wouldnt have to teach me.

Oh, duh. Dana smacked herself on the head.

Congratulations, you are now dumber than you were ten seconds ago.

    What?

Every time you smack your head, you kill millions of brain cells. But dont worry you have trillions of them.
