The Therapist/Writer and The Tennis Player Chap. 2

Dana looked dumbfounded, Oh. I totally knew that. Alice let out a chuckle. Dana and Alice stared at each other for a couple of seconds until the moment was broken.

Dana? Dana turned around and saw a beautiful red-head who was not only familiar to her, but to Alice too for some reason. Alice had seen her somewhere before.

Oh my God, Lara? Dana got up and gave her a hug. How have you been?

    Ive been good. You?

Oh, Im fine. Dana looked Lara up and down. You look great. Do you still work here?

Yeah, I was just about to go on my shift and I saw you and thought Id say hi. So, hi.

Hi. Dana remembered way she was there in the first place. Oh, this is Alice. A friend of mine.

    Alice waved. Hi.

Hello. Lara looked at her watch. Well, I better get going or Im gonna be late. It was nice seeing you again.

    Bye.

Bye Dana. Lara walked off and Dana sat back down.

    That was Lara Perkins my-

Alice suddenly remembered where shed seen Lara before. That was your ex-girlfriend. Right?

    Yeah, howd you know?

I read about you two in a magazine article. I wasnt really planning on reading anything in the magazine article, but I saw an article called Finally and a picture of you two and thought Id give it a read. It was a really sweet article.

Oh, that article. Alice and Dana spent the next couple of hours talking instead of playing tennis. At seven Dana looked at her watch. Wow, I thought we were gonna play tennis, but I enjoyed more.

Same here. Maybe you can teach me some other time.

Yeah. Um, can I have your number, so-

Of course, friends should have each others numbers. Alice searched her pockets and found a piece of paper. Do you have anything I can write with? Dana grabbed her tennis bag, pulled out a crayon and handed it to Alice. Crayola?

    Dont ask.

Whatever. Alice jotted down her number and handed it to Dana. There you go. I have to go now.

Dana watched Alice walk off. I call you later. Dana just stared at the paper with Alices number on it. Fuck, I shouldve given her my number, too.
