After two days off Tina had been incredibly busy on the Monday trying to catch up with what she had missed out on in the previous two days. She couldn’t believe how quickly the time was passing as she was already in week three of the project and things seemed to be progressing well on the set. It was well into the afternoon before she realised that she was supposed to be calling Shane to check up on Bette’s progress over returning to work. Just as she was about to dial the number she was interrupted by Kate placing a cup of coffee in her hand.

“So, you were pretty elusive over the weekend. Are you OK?”

“I’m fine. I just had some things I needed to take of.” replied Tina, smiling at the hint of concern in Kate’s voice for her welfare.

“So I can only presume that you have been speaking to Bette then?”

“Am I really that transparent?”

“No, it’s just that you seem more settled. Before it seemed like even though you were focusing on one thing there was always something else that was fighting for prominence in your thoughts. I’m guessing you’ve moved a little closer to where you want to be with her?” Kate asked this question knowing that she was prying but she couldn’t help herself.

“I’m not sure Kate, if I knew where I wanted to be with her then I guess that would help but yeah, we talked, about some difficult issues. Things that happened between us that never should have occurred, but did, and part of what we have to figure out is whether we can get past those things, learn to put them behind us. It’s not easy though, just talking about them takes you back to that place, where you don’t want to be. I’m sorry, I’m being vague aren’t I? It’s just that some of this stuff is really personal, between Bette and me.”

“It’s OK Tina. I understand. You don’t have to tell me anything that you don’t want to. It’s just that we’re both along way from home and you know that you can trust me, don’t you?”

“Yes I do. If I forgot to say this sometime in the past, thank you. It must have been more than you bargained for when you volunteered for the job.” said Tina, shaking her head at what Kate must have thought about her over the last few weeks.
