    Wow…indeed!

     

     

     

    ‘She called me to ask if I remember our date next weekend. I promised her to take her to New York. She is fourteen and a typical teenager. Shopping until the creditcard cracks!’

     

     

     

    Bette smiled at the thought of her wonderful goddaughter. She loved her so dearly like she was her own daughter.

     

     

     

    ‘She is the daughter of a good friend of mine. They can’t afford to take her to places and they wouldn’t want me to help them financially. So Hannah and I just started to plan trips where she can do and buy whatever she wants and needs. She is really great.’

     

     

     

    Tina looked in awe at the woman in front of her. And yet another side of Bette Porter she didn’t know. A very loving and generous person who likes kids.

     

     

     

    ‘Sounds like you love her very much’

     

    ‘More than you can imagine. Okay maybe it is a bonus to be the favorite aunt and be called cool by a teenager…’

     

    ‘That means alot. Normally everyone over 25 is old and a total embarrassment.’

     

     

     

    They both started to laugh which felt great for both of them.

     

     

     

    ‘I’m sorry that I jumped to conclusions because of the phonecall’

     

    ‘I guess my reputation is a heavier burden than I care to admit sometimes. But eventhough I know I have to earn it, I hope you will trust me one day. My intensions towards you are honorable’

     

    ‘I have a feeling that you are honest and trustworthy but if that is okay with you I will have you on probation for a little while longer.’

     

    ‘That is totally understandable. So can I offer you another glass of wine?’

     

    ‘No I think I had enough and should leave. It’s late.’

     

    ‘Oh okay if that is what you want. How did you come here?’

     

    ‘I called a cab which is what I will do again now.’

     

    ‘No please. May I drive you home?’

     

    ‘No you don’t have to…’

     

    ‘But I want to. If thats okay with you?’

     

    ‘Sure’

     

     

     

    They made their way down to Bette’s private garage. As she opened it Tina was shocked. So many beautiful cars and even a few motorcycles. Bette saw the look on her face and couldn’t stop herself from joking
