”Right, she was.” I frown slightly back and forth between Claire and Tina.
”And you know there really is a big movement across the straight to gay feminist lines to make same sex marriage a civil rights and well, a human rights issue, too. They’re all over it in California.”
”I know, we just passed the marriage laws in our favor.” I nod fervently. ”I know! I do read the papers!”
”Just take a deep breath, Bette, and open the door and walk up on stage. Gloria is going to introduce us, and you are going to kiss me in front of all these wonderful people, and put my engagement ring on my finger.”
”It’s a perfect event for the studio to sponsor while launching their first big gay movie.” Claire adds as she slips her computer back inside her briefcase and zips it shut.
The limo comes to a halt.
”I don’t know.” My voice drifts as I look out the window at hundreds of people I’ve never seen before and probably never will again.
”What’s wrong?” Claire asks.
”I was geared up to do this in front of half a dozen reporters, and then, go back to work.” I look at Tina who smiles at me despite my reluctance.
”Bette, Gloria told me to give you this message if you started stalling and carrying on.” Claire slips the briefcase over her shoulder.
”Carrying on?”
”Point is, Gloria said for me to tell you, ”Get up on the stage with her and Tina. Let her announce your marriage because she said, and I quote, ”Tell Bette we’re going to do this together and send it up to Melvyn.”
I beam a thousand watts at Tina and Claire. ”Message delivered. She’s so fucking right.” I pull Tina into me for a kiss.
”You’re in?” Tina asks as our lips finally part with a loud smack.
”Wow!” Claire says. ”I’m sure everyone would like to see something like that!”
”I’m sure they would.” I wink at her as I open the door to the limo and I hear nothing but whistles and applause.

Brilliant ! I loved We-Ho but this Season 7 promises to be Fantastic! This chapter is so great – I hear Bette as I read of so clearly and Joyce what a hoot!
My favourite couple plus a great version of Joyce plus a nod to Hitchcock and Brandy – what more could I want – Answer – another Chapter please soon!

Gosh, loved that chapter. Too bad IC couldn’t come up with something similar to give us, it would have been awesome. Of course, she couldn’t really do that because Jenny was patterned after her own life, so she siad in interviews. Blackbird, you’re awesome. Thanks for posting.

Just finally caught up with your latest installment. And as promised I would leave a comment. You have always amazed me with your writing and i also like the pics.
How I wish that there was really a season 7 where Jenny didn’t die bcoz when she died in S6, the show also ended with a lot of questions most esp. if someone killed her or she must have just fall by her own doing.
Anyway, thanks for exploring this for us. I am excited for their announcement and of course I’m also looking forward for Bette’s reunion with her mom.

Ok first off I have to apologise for missing this story I don’t know why but I by passed it for some reason anyway iv spend the weekend reading it from the beginning and I didn’t want to leave a message until I was all caught up ok so here goes absolutely loved it and as it goes on it just gets better and im loving all the twists and turns and im so pleased you got to put jenny in here place lol great so im looking forward to the next chapter so pps.

Thoroughly enjoying this chapter. Trying to sort out where stories begin and end. When I look up your name on “Search Fanfic” the story titles are not listed which makes for confusion. There must be an easier, more logical way. Other authors have each chapter listed so one can select the story or chapter that one wishes.
