    Five years after the fall of B&T.

    She had changed Tina could see this.  Her demeanor was more relaxed.  Not so on edge.  Not so eager to please.  If this was really a change in Bette, she liked it.  It looked good on her.  Of course any thing looks good on her.  Tina smiled.  So she was giving her a second chance.  Giving them a second chance.  Friendship would have to come first, then they would let fate take over.

     

    They continued talking, catching up on each others lives.  Until they were interrupted by the ringing of Tina’s phone..


     

     

    To Live Again, To Love Again                                          Chapter 6

     

    Tina answered her phone, when she saw the caller ID she looked a bit annoyed.  It was Sarah.

    Tina:  “Hello?”

    Sarah:  “Hey sweetie are you home yet?”

    Tina:  “No”

    Sarah:  “Oh well I was going to be in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by.”

    Tina:  “I’m still at the Planet.  Why don’t you come over around five?  I’m going home soon and take a nap.  Then I’ll fix dinner for us.  How does that sound?”

    Sarah was a bit put off, but knew not to let it show.

    Sarah:  “Ok, sounds good, I’ll see you soon.  Bye.”

    Tina:  “Goodbye”

     

    Tina turned to Bette.

    Tina:  “Sorry about that.”

    Bette:  “No problem”

    Tina:  “So Claire sounds like a good friend.”

    Bette:  “She is.”

    Tina:  “Do you love her?”

    Bette:  “Yes, but I’m not in love with her.  I would love for the two of you to meet.”

    Tina:  “She sounds pretty special”

    Bette:  “Well she put up with me at my worse.  You know what that’s like.  Not pretty.”

    They both laughed.

    Tina:  “No its not, but maybe she thought it was worth it.”

     

    Bette smiled.

    Bette:  “Now tell me about you and Sarah.”

    Tina:  “What do you want to know?”

    Bette:  “Are you in love with her?”

    Tina:  “I’m not in love with her, I do care for her.  We have fun, we enjoy each others company.”

    Bette:  “Can I ask you something?”

    Tina:  “Sure”

    Bette:  “Do you miss us?  What we had?”

    Tina:  “Yes I do everyday.”

    Bette:  “Me too. That’s why I’m here.  I’ve found out that I don’t have to be perfect.  That relationships have ups and downs.  That I’m not and I don’t have to live a life like my father.”

    6. Beautifully written. The fact that each is dreaming of the other is a very good sign. Their sub consious re-affirming them as to where their hearts truly lie.

      I like the fact that Tina is seeing someone but doesn’t use her as an outlet. Whereas Bette is no longer seeing Clair, she still leans on her. Its good to see they have people outside the Family.

      Please post soon, this is a great story.

      She’s at the door and Tina has already gotten off. Should she just concede defeat now and cut her losses?

Sarah is a sllep over buddie to Tina and Clair is a friend in need to Bette at least they have someone to turn to, Sarah is not going to like the fact that Tina will be seeing Bette so often. She will say something to bette and Tina will send her far far away. thanks

    14. That was some HOT chapter for the girls and for us too. Love the fact that they can not stop thinking of each other even when they are asleep and remembering some of those favorite moments in their lives. I know we will see them together soon and they will remain so forever. AMEN!!! Happy that they can still talk to each other and not get crazy, jealous, etc. Love this story. Post soon please.

      Love this part – very touching:
      Bette: “Can I ask you something?”

      Tina: “Sure”
      Bette: “Do you miss us? What we had?”
      Tina: “Yes I do everyday.”
      Bette: “Me too. That’s why I’m here. I’ve found out that I don’t have to be perfect. That relationships have ups and downs. That I’m not and I don’t have to live a life like my father.”
      Tina took Bette’s hand.
      Tina: “I never wanted you to be perfect. Yes relationships have ups and downs. And no you are not your father.”
      Bette: “I didn’t know if you would accept my faults. I mean I know you would have accepted me, I know that now. But back then I thought you would see me as a failure. I couldn’t stop us from losing the baby.”
      Bette started crying then. Tina was crying too. They held on to one another for a moment.

      It’s so good to see them working things through together:

      Tina: “Thank you Bette for coming back and facing your demons. We’ll get thru this together. I promise.”
      Bette: “Yes together, we’ll fix us.”

      There’s still hope…

    26. With the NC-17, I was worried since I didn’t think Bette and Tina was together yet…..phew….this was nice. Maybe they can “phone” each other? Hee.
